The point is that you said they "re-signed the better players that helped this team not go 0-17. Especially defensive guys that were very solid, and not the reason we lost games". Uche does not fit that bill. Uche was a part time niche player who failed at his one job.
From that perspective, they just blew $3m that could have gone elsewhere.
3 million for a young pass rusher on a 1 year prove-it deal is hardly a waste, especially with the cap room they have. Sorry i'm not bemoaning every move the team has made 2 days into free agency, I'm trying to give the new guys a chance. Bitching about every move (or non-move) to me just isn't fun, especially this early in the roster buildout. If we're still without a WR1, a QB, and another OL or two, after the draft, then I'll be pissed. But it's way to early to panic.

No, you can't. You can't be "trying to give the new guys a chance" and complain about the idea of getting a WR they were willing to give $22m to, and be consistent while doing so.

Yes, obviously this is the play if you can't get anyone in FA. Trade a 2nd or 3rd for a rookie on an expiring, pick up the option, negotiate an extension.
Vikings are in talks to trade to 4 with the Cardinals. Why isn't that in talks for 3 with the Patriots? Jefferson and 9 for 3. Done. If you're not getting Caleb Williams in this draft, and you're not drafting Marvin Harrison - then you're getting a lottery ticket on a QB like everyone else. Just like you did for Mac Jones. There's no difference between 3, and 9 and the 2nd round.

Veteran quarterback Joe Flacco has agreed with the Colts on a one-year deal worth up to $8.7 million, sources told ESPN.
Jennings was one of the best LB's against the run last year per PFF. If you have eyes and watched the games i'm sure you would've seen it. He was really good, and there was a lot of conversation around that fact in the media, on X, and on MB's.

I think Brisset has better intangibles that the New England Patrisox were looking for.
Small sample size, but when he played last year he was really good. Now if we want an expensive, good WR via trade, Terry McLaurin could probably be had.
The signings where they did nothing but maintain players that they should have already extended has led some people to claim that the team is doing well in free agency. It's a bad claim, but it's what should be expected by the team and the homers.
Despite disagreeing with a few of you guys on Ridley, I do want them to add another WR before the draft. I'd prefer to see if they can get an outside WR via trade though. McLaurin, Ayiuk, Sutton, Godwin, would be my targets. For the right $$ I'd kick the tires on Mike Williams or Hollywood Brown, and for depth at slot or cheaper options I'd go for Renfrow, Cedric Wilson, DJ Chark, Reynolds.

He's a beast when healthy, but hes OFTEN injured.. but Chiefs im sure would pull another horseshoe out their ass and he wouldnt miss a snap for them
