The death of Sports Illustrated.

Doesn’t help that they went from featuring actual models on their swimsuit cover to featuring a tranny and Martha Stewart.

When the hot chicks issue is by far your best selling issue, your best move is to start putting something other than hot chicks in the issue.

Martha is still hot.

And that tranny...well we couldn't see his cock at least.

Martha actually looked good on there. Just not as good as Olivia Culpo, Megan Fox, or, for the older guys, Kathy Ireland.

I just posted some relevant stuff about this in the Fitness thread about men’s and women’s bodies. For all the talk about societal constructs, I posted a poll about men’s versus women’s bodies. By consensus, men prefer women in the 25-35% body fat range, a very wide range, which still looks healthy and curvy…men generally aren’t actually attracted to the uber thin look that models have. There is a HUGE in between range between model skinny and the women on those SI covers, who don’t look healthy, but probably would look great if they lost a fairly small pct of body fat.

On the other hand, women by and large prefer men to have very low percentage of body fat (10-15%.). They also like athletic bodies and don’t like overweight or skinny.

It’s exponentially more difficult for a man to get to a woman’s stringent ideal physique than for a woman to get to a man’s ideal physique. Hence in the dating market there’s an imbalance because so many women are within men’s desirable physical shape and so few the other way, and why men have more trouble finding dates and partners. On the other hand women do prioritize looks less than men, but it’s still a big aspect.

This isn’t a blaming women thing but more about natural human attraction. But point being, the ideals and social rebellion behind these plus sized mods is completely off base and stupid.

Sure but most men buy the SI swimsuit issue for the hot models, they don't want them to be fat, ugly or have a penis. There's niche material out there i'm sure for any fetish or whatever. Same with Victoria Secret, they started doing identity garbage and their sales tanked. But when a health and fitness magazine puts a 400lb obese woman on the cover and calls it "healthy" we might have a problem.

Woke will kill everything it infiltrates sooner or later. SI is no exception.

I wish SI was for today’s youth what it was for me: informative and enlightening.

I soaked up every page of every issue. I even wrote a letter once.

Damn shame woke has killed another one.

Yeah, they used to be so good before they decided to move away from their bread and butter. Those were all towards the end of the last time they were good. With what they are doing now - using AI to write their “articles,” anybody could be a Sports Magazine. That’s how irrelevant print has become.

I didn’t even realize they had a lot of employees to lay off. They already gutted the company a few years back and no longer printed. SI has been mostly a bunch of bloggers for quite a while.
