It looks like the guys have tuned out the coach, which would not be a surprise, as "buddy" coaches tend to have a very short shelf life in hockey.

It's not a matter of tuning-out the HC; it's a matter of goal-scoring Talent, and the Ruins ain't got nearly enough of it.

A lack of goal scoring talent isn't why the defense is playing this poorly, though. A lack of goal scoring talent isn't why they are so penalty prone. And a lack of goal scoring talent certainly isn't why Pastrnak is being more bad Pastrnak than usual.

When you've got a buddy coach going at a team captain, complete with physical contact, less than 10 games into the season, you've got problems beyond scoring goals.

I didn't like the Zadorov signing, and was never a huge fan of Carlo, especially where he was drafted; and their two best Defencemen, Mac & Lindholm, aren't earning their money either... But this team's main problem - and it isn't a new one in their history - is lack of 3rd- and now 2nd-line scoring... The defense & goal-keeping will likely tighten-up eventually to what we've been used to seeing, more or less, but the Ruins' paucity of Talent up-front will doom them to yet another season of Failure.

Then they fired the wrong guy. Again.

Nah....

He had to go. He was the wrong hire (not his fault), hired for the wrong reasons (not his fault), and this was bound to happen (soft coach after tough coach almost always leads to a tune out).

Sweeney, and maybe Neely, are now on the hot seat, and they should be. The guy who should be coaching this team is currently coaching the Vegas Golden Knights, but they chose to fire him because guys like Carlo thought he was too mean sometimes.

Former NHL player and TNT hockey analyst Paul Bissonnette says he was assaulted by several men during an altercation at a Scottsdale steakhouse Sunday night.

Bissonnette posted a video on X on Monday describing the incident, saying he tried to intervene when one member of the group got in the manager's face and started grabbing him after his friend was asked to leave.

"You could tell by his face he (the manager) was a little shocked and surprised and stunned," Bissonnette said. "It's a family restaurant and there wasn't anyone there who could maybe go help him out, so I went over, grabbed the guy and said: 'Sir, if you're going to assault and harass the staff, we're going to have problems.'"

Bissonnette said members of the group started throwing punches in a fight that started in the restaurant, and spilled into the parking lot and to a nearby store. Bissonnette said he was kicked in the head three times and took several punches while landing several blows of his own against seven men.

Scottsdale police arrested six men who are accused of assault and disorderly conduct.

Bissonnette played in the NHL from 2008 to '14, spending his final six seasons with the Arizona Coyotes before moving on to a broadcasting career.

Marchand might not be as cooked as I first thought, and Geek is showing a couple more glimpses why he was a late 1st-round pick once... Maybe put Lindholm between them, see if his own un-productive little Eurotrash ass can get going? ZaZa & Pasta should stay together for now... If only Coyle had his own partner, then they might actually have something... Without making a trade, their only hope is giving Merkulov a regular top-9 shift and hope it clicks up here too... Gotta admit, for a big guy Brazz has a nice feel for passing... And I'd rather have our cousin Vinnie Letteri than the fucking Waste of a 1st-roud pick Beecher.

Marchand - Lindholm - Geek
Freddie - ZaZa - Pasta
Merkulov - Coyle - Brazz
Koepke - Vinnie - Kastelic

Laurie needs to go to Providence, or lower if possible, and not return here until he learns how to play defense.

'Spoon - Charlie Mac
Zadorov - Peake
Oesterle - Carlo

Beecher, McLaughlin & Laurie are NOT NHL players.

And there's a distinkt stench of Eurotrash Entitlement running through that locker room.
