These types of videos and reading comments led me to reading all about this a few years ago. 2 cardinal rules violated here:
1. Never jump into water where there’s white foam anywhere (you can see it at the end with the waterfall). Even if there’s not, be very cautious. Current often can’t be seen.
2. Never jump into the water to save someone (unless it’s a small child.) Then you have 2 dead bodies instead of 1. It’s an unconscious survival instinct to jump onto the rescuer.
Always bring a floatation device, even if it’s just one of those small white lifeguard tubes. They save lives.
I’ve seen so many drowning videos and they’re the worst. They’re always from lack of knowledge and overconfidence, rarely does someone get pushed in against their will or is there some unexpected wave.
