Scheffler doing what Scheffler does - just hanging around and hitting clutch shots when he needs it the most. Spieth, who is in his group, expends so much more energy because he can’t contain his emotions.
I’d like to see him win. Surprised he only has two majors, both Masters.

Same. He reminds me of Brady when it comes to golf and competition. You’d think he would have more by now.

Tiger +14 bro needs to retire
I’ve basically hated everything Woods for like 10 years. I turn on a major, they have to show every one of his shots even though he’s not in contention.

Headline is always “Tiger, +7, in danger of missing cut”

Who the fuck cares anymore? Harder to find out who is leading the tournament than finding out an irrelevant player’s score.

He’s won one major in the last 15 years.

If it were up to me, everyone would get a trophy and the winnings would be spread equally. We need to think about the kids.
It’s funny. My 9 year old told me yesterday she loves her camp because they have tiebreakers on everything and there’s always a winner and a loser. Said she hates when everyone gets a trophy because then it’s worthless. Smart girl.

If my insomnia is bad tonight, tournament starts at 1:30 AM Pacific.

Should be an exciting finish. Scheffler in 8th place but only two strokes back.

Horschel, Burns, and Henley have never won a major.

Lawrence has never finished top 40 in a major.

Brown has never played in a major before.

IMO, The Open should ALWAYS be played at St. Andrew’s. That course is so fucking iconic. Like… literally iconic.
That course was very bad for creating drama. Every hole was either a two putt from 25 feet for par or an easy up and down. I don’t think I saw one chip in all week, not one eagle putt, and little drama on the greens. The bunkers weren’t a big issue. The fairways barely affected the bottom line.

Add to that the wind, and you have a winner at nine under. St. Andrew’s was way better at creating that drama you speak about.

I like courses where there’s a variety of different holes. And I realize The Open is links, so that’s not really the theme, but I mean most links courses have some “go to” holes where you can take a risk on a par 5 to reach in 2, par 3s where you can be daring, some very difficult holes requiring club choice risks, etc.

Royal Troon was like watching the exact same “difficulty level: 8.5” hole 18 consecutive times. Just very straight forward: we made this hole just long enough that it’s tough to birdie, but other than that, it’s just a regular fairway and regular green.

Team USA again being taken to limit. 80-80 against Germany with 5:00 left.

After that embarrassment against South Sudan, they should have come out like gangbusters. But they have no real leader.
