It’s like what you wrote in the Celtics thread…Tatum has a lot of flaws in his game, but they’re the kind of flaws that are really going to cost Team USA at this level.

I’ve said, his biggest issue, is that he can’t decide whether he wants to be Jordan or Pippen, since he has equal elements of alpha iso ball player and elements of all-around efficiency distributor, and this awkward hesitation and overthinking causes a lot of his struggles.

He’s a better Pippen than Jordan. He turns the ball over too much when he tries to force his will on the defense, and he simply isn’t great enough offensively to justify the poor decision making. You outlined those specific flaws in that post. He isn’t a great midrange shooter, and worse, his finishing at the rim (which had improved greatly at the beginning of the season), and his 3 pt shooting has been in a valley for six months.

US Men’s 400 relay team with an epic choke. They were massive favorites. DQd and didn’t medal anyway (finished 7/8). Apparently this is an ongoing issue with them unable to sync baton handoffs.

Another great redemption story here. This guy Rai Benjamin finished Silver in last Olympics despite a record time (well, besides the winner.) Waited three years for a rematch. The opponent Tokyo Gold medalist, Warholm, seemed like a really cocky ass, with douchey mannerisms, after three years of glory.

You have to love that Jayson Tatum and Derrick White are on the Team USA bench actively cheering on their teammates. White is actually burning more calories than Curry.
