I actually hated the Tatum trade, though it was because I thought the Celtics didn't get enough, and not about Fulz v. Tatum. I still feel that way, really. But the plights of Fulz and Ball have changed it from a hatred to a disappointment, because "at least..." takes away a lot of the sting.
I’m still surprised about the whole situation. Generally the NBA scouts are good at identifying talent. And you consider that there’s one perennial All-NBA player / MVP every two drafts on average. So, finding that stud can be very difficult.

I can see why they miss on these raw development projects or foreign players with different styles (Giannis, Jokic, etc.). But Tatum was a top high school prospect and played at Duke. A very visible player whose skills were already well developed by draft pick standards. Not that the #3 overall draft position is some huge slight, but it seems no one had him pegged as a franchise superstar or even considered taking him at 2/3. I’m surprised Fulz was a dud but I still don’t understand why teams had Ball rated so high. He just isn’t very good and never had special talent.

Fulz was talented, but he had the injury, it got into his head, and he never really recovered from it. Ball could never fix his shot.

Boston was very lucky, for the purposes of the trade, that both teams were looking for back court help. It allowed Ainge to be confident about dropping down. But I still think he should have gotten another first round pick for the move.

I was very wrong about Fulz. I thought he was going to be the next great shooter, but I was way off. I was high on Tatum, too, but he exceeded my expectations.

Everyone was wrong about Fulz

To their credit, the Celtics weren't. Then again, unlike the rest of us, they got to work him out, and they saw the arm issue when they did.

Regardless of what happens tonight or in the SEC Tournament, I’ve watched a lot of Florida basketball games. With Haugh and Condon back and in playing shape to go along with Walter Clayton, Jr, we are going to be a very tough out in the tournament. We can either pound you on the boards and kill you inside with size or Clayton can drain one from damn near half court.

LMAO two alley oop opportunities for Clayton from the 3-point line, two one-handed jams for Condon. Suck a cock, Bama.
