Well, if you've been a longtime Boston sports fan, abject disappointment and a tendency to see the collapse coming (and even root for it in a way) is much more normal than the dynasty could ever be.
As a Boston fan, I feel like the sword of Damocles is always hanging over my head. I've become immune to the disappointment.
