Brittany Mahomes’ parents, Diana Lindenberg and Scott Matthews, are her biggest cheerleaders.
Despite divorcing when Brittany was a child and co-parenting from different parts of the Longhorn State — Diana lived in Whitehouse while Scott relocated to Dallas — both remained involved in her life and supportive of her dreams of becoming a professional soccer player.
Outside of Brittany’s soccer career, which culminated in a year-long stint on the professional Icelandic women’s soccer team UMF Afturelding/Fram, the family also rallied around their shared love of fitness and football, which only grew stronger when Brittany married her high school sweetheart Kansas City Chiefs quarterback
Patrick Mahomes.
Diana and Scott also became grandparents in 2021 when Brittany and Patrick welcomed their first child, daughter Sterling Skye, followed by a second child, son Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III, in 2022.
While Brittany doesn't often speak about her mom and dad, she shares glimpses of them online.

Diana and Scott share two children
During their marriage, Diana and Scott welcomed Brittany and her brother, Devin, and raised them in Texas.
As Brittany's soccer talent grew and she set her eyes on continuing to play the sport after college, Devin chose a different path. Though he's not in the public eye, Devin shared
on LinkedIn that he enrolled in the U.S. Navy in 2012 and completed a six-year term as a missile technician on ballistic missile submarines.
When Devin finished his military career in 2018, he began studying mechanical engineering at San Diego State University and earned his bachelor's degree four years later. While doing his undergrad, Diana visited her son out West and documented her visits
on Instagram.
Since then, Devin has moved back closer to home and settled in North Texas, where he works for a local company.
In his free time, he's often spotted alongside his sister Brittany and mom Diana
celebrating holidays and
attending football games.

When Brittany was playing soccer at the University of Texas at Tyler, the collegiate athlete briefly opened up about Diana and Scott’s relationship on
The @HoboDia Show.
“I don’t even ever remember them being together,” she said. “I don’t know what it’s like to have parents that aren’t divorced. I mean, it’s been my whole life.”
Brittany also explained that her mom made it to all her college soccer games, while her dad also attended a fair amount.
After splitting up, Diana and Scott pursued new relationships. Scott moved to Dallas and got remarried, though details about his spouse are unknown.
Meanwhile, Diana remarried a Whitehouse native and soccer coach named Paul Massey, whom Brittany was close to until his death in 2018. Diana eventually married her current partner, Lance Lindenberg, about three years later.
Brittany was upset by the divorce:
Diana is a physical therapist
Like her daughter, Diana is originally from Whitehouse, Texas — the same town Brittany and Patrick met in and began dating as high schoolers — and attended the University of Texas at Tyler, where Brittany would later study and play soccer.
The two have also made careers out of their love of health and fitness: Brittany, a former collegiate and professional soccer player, is a certified personal trainer who runs her own fitness company
Brittany Lynne Fitness and co-owns the Kansas City Current women’s soccer team.
Diana has worked as a physical therapist assistant at UT Health East in Tyler, Texas, since 2021 but has been in the profession longer, according to
her Facebook.
Diana ready for work:
Scott is a Packers football fan
Even though his son-in-law is the franchise quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs and a three-time MVP winner and Super Bowl champion with the team, Scott appears to have a soft spot for the Green Bay Packers football team — and so did Brittany at one point.
In an
Instagram post from 2013, Brittany shared a picture of herself and Scott smiling in front of a fireplace while all decked out in Packer gear, captioning the snapshot, “Daddy!
.”
While Brittany started dating Patrick in 2012, he wasn’t drafted to the Chiefs until 2017. Since then, she’s shown her allegiance to the Chiefs, even attending a
Packers-Chiefs game at Lambeau Field in Wisconsin, where she wore full-on Chiefs gear in December 2023.
Recent history seems to suggest that Scott, however, may still be a proud Packers cheesehead. He posted a picture of himself in January 2017
on X (formerly Twitter) wearing green-and-yellow attire alongside the hashtag #GoPackGo.
Despite his love for the Wisconsin team, he still cheers on his son-in-law. “I’ve seen it all and moving forward there is NONE better than @PatrickMaholmes5 — PERIOD!!!!!”
Scott wrote in April 2017.

Brittany's mom experienced loss in 2018
Ahead of a Chiefs game on Nov. 11, 2018, Brittany’s stepfather, Paul, died at the age of 63 after collapsing outside of Arrowhead Stadium and being rushed to a nearby hospital.
At the time, Paul was getting ready to attend the game with
Patrick’s father, Pat Mahomes.
In
his obituary, Paul was described as a passionate sports fan who would do “everything he could to never miss the thrill of a Kansas City Chiefs game.” He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Ann Massey, and son, Lance Allen Massey.
On Jan. 3, 2019, months after Paul’s death, Diana posted an
Instagram tribute to her late husband on his birthday.
“Happy birthday in heaven!! Love you and miss you!!!” she captioned a photo of herself and Paul. In the comments section, Brittany responded, “Love you mom!!”

Diana found love again after Paul’s death
In January 2020, Diana began
posting selfies on Instagram of her spending time with Lance Lindenberg, a fellow Tyler native and senior designer at Trane Technologies, per
his Linkedin.
While dating, Diana shared photos of the two attending
Chiefs games together,
playing tennis and traveling.
A little over a year after becoming Instagram official, Diana and Lance
got engaged on Valentine's Day 2021 and
married two months later. For
their honeymoon, they enjoyed various outdoor forest activities, including hiking, picnics and relaxing in a cabin.
Since then, Diana has continued to share lots of
pictures of the two together. Brittany has shown her support by occasionally commenting encouraging words on her mom’s photos or dropping heart emojis.

Diana and Scott love to celebrate Brittany
Over the years, Diana and Scott haven’t held back from posting about their daughter’s successes and milestones.
Brittany’s mom has frequently shared photos of herself, Brittany, Patrick and her grandkids on social media and never misses a chance to celebrate her daughter.
On Brittany’s 28th birthday, Diana marked the special occasion with
a photo of them and the sweet message, “Happy birthday to my baby girl!!
. Love you bunches!!!”
Scott has also made his pride in his daughter’s athletic abilities known. After
she graduated from UT Tyler in 2017, Brittany signed with UMF Afturelding/Fram, prompting her father to celebrate her achievement.
“So proud of @brittanylynne8 making ‘her’ dreams come true! Great job Coach @spwebb13 but I taught her how to use her left foot!!” Scott teased
on X.
