One of the best judicial moves I've ever heard of happened in Canada. Keith Richards got busted for heroin and coke in 77 while in Toronto. Of course the trial was a circus. The judge found him guilty but reasoned that he wasn't out committing crimes to support his habit. So the judge sentenced him to do a concert with all the proceeds going to benefit the blind. If he has a good lawyer, and a good excuse, there's a chance he could get off with a long probation, or some 30-day halfway house thing. But the fact that it was on tape isn't going to bode well for him.
