NFL GameDay The official Week 1 game day thread.

GameDay Discussion
For years now, the Niners regularly look like a Pro NFL team playing college kids. A lot of games they just look bigger, faster, stronger, and blatantly more dominant.

They got a little refballed in the Super Bowl (just like the Eagles), but really did blow it giving Mahomes a great Super Bowl history drive to win the game.

If they signed Tom instead of letting him go to Tampa, they would have eight banners right now.

And if they insult Purdy in contract negotiations, I hope the Pats sign him.

I guess that’s depending on Drake now but I’ve been high on Purdy awhile. Doesn’t even surprise me the talking heads act like he’s a JAG.

I don’t hate Mahomes as much as other guys (Manning, Rodgers.) While I don’t like the overall narrative that he carries the Chiefs on his back and wins with big splays (both not true) and the way it’s absurdly contrasted with Brady in arguments, the guy is one hell of a quarterback. I root against him but at least he deserves most of his accolades. It’s more likable than Manning (choker) and Rodgers (fraud, choker) and their apologists.

He’s good and —most importantly— good against post-season defenses (goodbye, Marino). That PI in the end zone against the Eagles in the SB was horseshit refball, though. But whatever, everyone gets their gifts they have to take advantage of.

If he doesn’t win another ring and just compiles regular season stats, he’ll still go down above Manning.

Very little individual and team adversity to date though. One of the best coaches ever that had a team primed with Alex Smith.

That AFC Championship against Brady and the Super Bowl against Brady were probably the biggest football legacy games ever played. Tom won them both. Can’t really overcome that.

A three peat and getting to 7 will put an end to that narrative.

Win this year first and go from there
Queefs should be favored but anything can happen
You guys have been extremely lucky that you haven't dealt with any key injury like the Pats did during the prime years

A three peat and getting to 7 will put an end to that narrative.
It won’t though lol
A three-peat with 7 would be a nice notch under his belt on why he’s 1b, but he’ll always, at the absolute best, be a 1b.

The Mahomes era overlapped the much longer and more dominant Brady era and it didn’t deter Brady’s dominance at all.

Roadkill on the way to more Super Bowls like everyone else.

And to add to this he needs 8
That's how it works
Brady got to 4 and still had people saying Montana>Brady and even some incest Colts fans saying Manning>Brady
Once he got to 5 no debate

Which is annoying because Tom should have 10.

If you adjust for bullshit, Mahomes needs 11.
