2023-24 Boston Celtics & NBA Thread

On both sides, dude. He’s been like white on rice for whoever he’s guarding.
He has been like this for 2 years, an absolute game wrecker. Derrick White is the most underrated player in the NBA. He’s a top 20 player who gets treated by the media like Bruce Bowen.

@TheRainMaker do you think LOLeBron is leaving? Do you want him to?
Boy, do I miss the Kobe/Shaq and Kobe/Gasol days - they took every game seriously/no days off. There's been something that is just off with LeBron and then AD in LA. We're lucky as hell they won the bubble championship where many teams quit and wanted to go home. LaBrick and AD can't rely on coasting through the season, barely making the playoffs and then going on a run. The Nuggets was the worst possible matchup.

I think LaGM stays and the Lakers will do what it takes to make him stay just like they gave Kobe the very controversial extension at the end of his career. They need asses to stay in the seats. Do I want him to stay? Eh....he's extremely high maintenance and expects everyone on the team including the 10th man on the roster to shoot 40% from 3 or they won't win. They won't win anything with him because him and AD take games off and he can't take over games like Kobe did.

I'm waffling on tonight's 76ers/Knicks game. That's not good.
I'm rooting for the Knicks for several reasons:

1. It's good for the NBA if they go deep in the playoffs.
2. The tradition of the 76ers losing in the 1st/2nd round of playoffs has to continue.

Him saying “it’s just basketball” reminded me of the time he told reporters and Heat fans to “get a life” when they were getting their asses kicked by Dallas in 2010-2011. Jordan would have broken his jaw in practice for that kind of attitude. He’s lucky he had DWade on his ass when he was in Miami. Wade was the alpha on that team and Spo/Riley basically told him to go fuck himself when he wanted more say in the team personnel.

I’d get rid of him if I were the Lakers. He’s past his prime and needs a lot of help to win now, which they can’t give him due to his salary. Let him be someone else’s headache.

90's era basketball was my favorite.

I'm sure it was exiting for you when LaGM showed up in Miami as he was young at the time. I think I heard something that they were all supposed to end up in Chicago. When he came to LA, the Lakers had to cave in to his demands as it's a requirement to have the star player in the NBA as a Laker. Aside from this season, LaGM has been shuffling the roster around every season. It was getting out of hand.

I'm reading he wants to stay in LA, but there's a theory he could bolt from the Lakers and sign with the Clippers. I wouldn't put past him.

He wants to play with his kid. That's the way to get to LeBron now.

Yep. LeBron is too high maintenance. I see one of two things happening:

1. LeBron signs contracts where he has an out every year so he can sign where his son is drafted. I doubt this because supposedly his wife wants to stay in LA.
2. LeBron pulls a LaVar Ball and tells teams to not even think about drafting his son because he's only playing for the Lakers/Clippers, etc. Kobe did the same thing as well.

Knicks had a two score lead with less than a minute left in regulation, but couldn't finish, and they lost the game in OT.

They had that fucking guy in bubble wrap all season long, yet he still couldn't survive even one playoff round.
That’s the only reason they could acquire him: the injuries. They’re good enough to win the east even if he’s out a few weeks. They’d need him healthy if they make it to the Finals especially against Jokic or Holmgren.
