it isn’t really a $113M sacrifice though Knicks getting a very nice deal regardless.

Brunson signed a 3 year deal with a 4th year player option. The larger deal next year is a 5 year contract.

He protects himself against injury and will have a better chance at another monster deal at a younger age.
