Patriots could have taken him, kept him away from the Chiefs, and had their two tackle positions set for the next 5 years, while allowing Simmons to take his time coming back from his injury.
Instead, they let the Chiefs have a player that they desperately needed to help protect Mahomes, and leave themselves needing to get another tackle as soon as next year...
