I will speak for Sensei on this matter. Here is what I noticed
@everyone
Sensei let us know about the fundraiser coinciding with a podcast about the Patriots. It sounded like a great opportunity for forum participation. He offered signed Patriots prizes. I joined in and offered big Dinglebucks awards for donating. This wasn't donating for the Girl Scouts. It was childhood cancer.
Sensei also opened up and shared how this cause was personal to him. Like Doug Kyed, he also lost a child a long time ago. It obviously wasn't something that was easy to talk about. But he shared. That was something I had never heard from him before, and my heart broke reading it. I thank God I have never gone through something like that.
We thought this thread was going to be a fun little thing here. Maybe donate, try to advertise the forum a bit, make fun of stupid comments on the podcast, whatever. Our expectations were high. Arguably unreasonable? Perhaps. Well, the thread ended up being quieter than an underwater pussy fart. Sensei donated, I made my $50 donation in the name of TheNFLForum.com, then crickets. Nothing. Not a creature could be found, not even a crab.
That's what happened. Is Sensei justified to be disappointed? That's for you to decide. Is Sensei justified to say fuck it and stop doing contests? Judge for yourself.
As the only other person to give to this worthy cause, I am in a strange predicament here. I don't want to say I'm better than the rest of you. But obviously I am. I just don't want to say it. So I won't.
If you think Sensei's reaction is overboard, that is you prerogative. Give him time. None of us are perfect.
You guys are just less so. I say that with love and humility.
