Winter tires were recalled due to a lack of traction in the snow.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Prinx Chengshan Tire North America Inc. has recalled over 100 sizes of Fortune Tormenta and Prinx Hicounty sold as replacements tires. The agency said the tires are labeled as snow tires, but "do not have sufficient traction to perform in all snow weather conditions."

"As such, these tires fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 139, 'New Pneumatic Radial Tires for Light Vehicles,'" the agency wrote...

Frito-Lay is recalling 13-ounce bags of its Lay’s Classic Potato Chips due to fears that they “may contain undeclared milk” that can pose a “risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction” to consumers, according to the Food and Drug Administration.

“Those with an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the recalled product,” the FDA said in a notice that was posted on Monday.

Discount retail store chain Big Lots announced Thursday that it will initiate “going out of business” sales at all its remaining locations after it was unable to reach an agreement with an investment firm.

“In parallel with these efforts, the company is preparing to commence going out of business sales at all remaining Big Lots store locations in the coming days to protect the value of its estate,” the company said in a statement, which added that Big Lots will continue “to serve customers in-store and online, and will provide updates as available.”
Big Lots CEO Bruce Thorn said in a statement that Big Lots attempted to complete a sale of the company to Nexus Capital Management but it fell through. He said the company will, in the meantime, attempt to close the deal with Nexus or another party by early next month...

The party’s over for Party City.

The New Jersey-based retailer, which had more than 850 locations globally as of August this year, will shutter all its stores after running out of money to stay in operation, according to CNN.

Barry Litwin, the company’s chief executive officer, told corporate employees on Friday that Party City is “winding down” operations immediately and that today will be their last day of employment.
“That is without question the most difficult message that I’ve ever had to deliver,” Litwin said at the meeting, which was held on a video conference call...
