A consumer thread

Heads up if you're in Michigan or Ohio:

Rite Aid has announced the closure of all its stores in Michigan and Ohio, following a staggering total of over 856 store closures since filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in October 2023.

This drastic reduction represents approximately a quarter of the chain’s original 2,111 locations, as reported by the Daily Mail.

With this latest announcement, all 234 Rite Aid locations in Michigan and 183 in Ohio are set to close, forcing customers to scramble for alternative pharmacies...

it's ok though...i'm more sad that there's now only one of these left.

So I tried a new product today. On the way to the movies yesterday my friend and I stopped to pick up some weed. I bought some edibles and something called "Moon Rocks". The Moon Rocks caught my eye because it was buds dipped in hash oil and sprinkled with Kief. Well I put a tiny, tiny bud in my pipe along with some regular weed. I took 3 hits and got up to get some more iced tea.

When I stood up, I momentarily staggered. It hit me like a floor boarded Ferrari. I haven't felt that high in quite a while. I totally recommend them!!

Is it just grilled cheese sandwiches?
it's different iterations on the theme. they used to have "design your own" dishes like mac n cheese base then you pick add-ins but i think that's done.

I never really cared for their subs.

But at least the niche was mediocre/crap subs at low prices (a/k/a the Little Caesar's and Domino's and fast food models), and that allowed them to thrive. Now they're mediocre/crap subs at high prices, and all the Charles Barkley fronted commercials in the world aren't going to mean that the subs are better or the prices are lower. I can buy better subs, with more variety, for less, from local pizza/sub shops, and that's the death knell for a chain like Subway.

I totally agree with you. I'm not sure legally how Dominos gets away with calling that crap pizza.

I know people who actually like it, and choose it as a legit top 3 pizza choice option. I feel so bad for their taste buds.

When I was 18-19 years old my buddy and I got Dominos for the first time. We had a pretty good buzz on and it seemed like a good idea at the time. The prices were cheap and I'm always about that. It didn't really look like a pizza when we opened the box and then I took my first bite. I remember thinking "I'm supposed to be eating pizza. What the fuck is this?". I honestly thought they made the pizza wrong.
It turns out I was right. And they've been making pizza wrong ever since.
