All things Belichick

Their point isn't that BB was critical of this past game. Their point is that he didn't give positive commentary after last week's game, THEN was critical of this past game.
Sad Baby GIF

Dude, you're the one white knighting over an obvious BB inconsistency, instead of just acknowledging the difference and then saying something like "Well, maybe because it was week one and he didn't want to jump right into it but, yeah, he has to be fair in both directions" or something like that. So tossing out crying gifs is probably not the way to go with this.

I was responding to a video you posted Dude. So in week 2 (Maybe wait 4 games to see how he responds week to week about certain teams) bill makes comment and thats being inconsistent because he didnt suck mayos dick because he won the 1st game.

You are acting like i was arguing with you, when i was say the 2 in the videos are idiots.

and the Crying Gif was for them not for you FYI

This whole media bruhaha about micah parsons and his very inelegant, to say it nicely, way of answering that question about Mike McCarthy that makes it look like he's putting him down( and he just well might be )leads me to another underappreciated thing about bill. people used to say he was dictatorial because his players answered questions so robotically for the most part. but the way I look at it is this. seeing how this whole thing is just getting talked about and talked about and talked about and players are getting asked about it,"oh what do you think of Micah Parsons? oh my God what did he say about Mike McCarthy?" etc. Bill hates distractions. so when players keep getting asked about some silly, idiotic, or careless comment that one of their teammates made, it is not a positive for a team. I'm not saying it keeps them from preparing, it just gets them annoyed and riled up either against that teammate or it's is a possible division between teammates that you don't need. so bill wasn't always dictating to them, except maybe in certain cases, "you say this or that" necessarily but he was giving them guidance on how to handle questions so that when they got to the point where they were asked controversial questions they knew how to handle it. if anything,I would think players would appreciate that because answering controversial questions in the heat of the moment, or at any point can be disconcerting. and it's comforting in a way to know how to handle those so that you don't trap yourself in those situations.

tl:dr sometimes it's nice to be able to say," my spouse won't let me or my parent won't let me" instead of being asked for your real thoughts or opinions or wants.

No one holds a grudge better than BB ...

Anyone betting Bill becomes HC of the Raiders next year and has Tommy as his boss?

Not without a quarterback. BB needs to roll wins early wherever he goes, because it ended badly in New England and the modern players (sports in general, not just the NFL) are becoming more pussified by the day.

OK ... Who has the QB, but not the HC?

Besides us, that is.

When I'm talking QBs for purposes of a discussion of this sort, I categorize football QBs like this:

  1. Just can't win with this guy
  2. Might be able to win in spite of this guy (i.e. Dilfer,)
  3. Can win with this guy, if you've got a good enough team around him (i.e. Stafford, Eli)
  4. Can win because of this guy (i.e. Brady Mahomes)

So, when I look at the most discussed potential spots, I don't see any QBs who fit #4, which is no surprise. Minshew and O'Connell are category 1 guys. Daniel Jones seems to be a category 1 guy, but he had that one season, so I might bump him up to category 2, though not for a BB team. Carr is, at best, a category 2 QB. Rodgers, even if he comes back, seems to be a category 1 or 2 guy. Watson has turned into a category 1 guy, and I don't see any signs of him regaining his old level of play, and Lawrence hasn't been the same since his injuries last year, so I'd list him as category 2 unless and until he shows signs of bouncing back to his earlier play.

So that leaves just Prescott and Hurtz, as guy's that I'd feel confident of being in category 3 on a BB team.

Former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick accidentally revealed his email address during his appearance on ‘ManningCast’ this week.

The football savant has been lending his knowledge to ESPN’s alternate broadcast this season and apparently leaves little to chance as he was shown with a printed sheet of email exchanges titled “ManningCast Questions.”

With as young as his girlfriend is most of his new emails are probably gonna be spam erectile dysfunction emails.😄

The New England Patriots weren't a good team at the end of Bill Belichick's long tenure as head coach, but you could argue they've been even worse since he left the franchise back in January.

The Patriots went 4-13 in 2023, which was Belichick's last in charge. They are 3-10 so far this season entering their Week 14 bye, and if you look at their remaining schedule, it's tough to envision New England winning another game.

Belichick was asked about the Patriots' struggles during Monday's episode of the Let's Go! podcast with co-host Jim Gray, and the eight-time Super Bowl champion gave an honest assessment of his former team.

“Yeah, just haven’t done enough to win very many games on any level,” Belichick said. “They’ve had trouble on defense. One of the last-ranked teams on offense, if not the bottom-ranked. Missed some key field goals and some kicking plays as well.

"So I’d say all three areas of the game just haven’t been good enough to win. And they still got a couple games left against Buffalo, right? They have a bye week this week, so maybe they can get a few things straightened out, but it’s just been a pretty inconsistent year. Just haven’t been able to do enough to win when they needed to.”

Belichick then admitted he feels for the players on the current roster who are enduring this difficult season.

"There are a lot of people there that (I'm) very close to," Belichick said. "A lot of them that I brought there, especially defensively. Almost all those players are re-signed and most all the offensive skill players, too. So it's hard to see them going through that type of a season.

"There's nothing I can do about it, I mean, just sit back and watch it. But, of course, yeah, I feel bad for a lot of those guys, especially the defensive players. I know those guys work hard. They're tough and they care and they put a lot into it."

Belichick's criticisms of his former team are fair.

The defense has absolutely taken a step back from last season, although that unit has missed a lot of important players due to injuries and departures. Christian Gonzalez is playing like an All-Pro cornerback in his second campaign, but there aren't many other players exceeding expectations on that side of the ball.

The offense has looked much better with rookie quarterback Drake Maye under center, and his development has been very encouraging for the franchise. But aside from Maye, there's not much to like from the offense.

The young wide receivers have largely been ineffective. More specifically, rookie wideouts Ja'Lynn Polk and Javon Baker, who the Patriots selected in the second and fourth round, respectively, look like busts. New England's third-down offense and red-zone offense have been issues, too.

The Patriots have the toughest remaining schedule in the league, based on their final four opponents having a combined .708 win percentage. If the Patriots don't win another game, they will have back-to-back seasons of four or fewer wins, which hasn't happened to this team since 1967 through 1970.
