Go for it. "Framed that way for a reason" could be a result of several things, and that list has to include BB using a cutout to maintain deniability.

Imagine the amount of shit BB would have had to swallow to do that, though. I mean, BB could have won the SB with the Jets while the Patriots went winless, and it would still have been a loss for BB at some level. And Woody would have been shamed for having him back. And Rex Ryan would have been shamed for BB beating him out for the gig. And more (just think of how much shit the Jets fans would have had to swallow, for example)...
Come to think of it, that might have been the greatest possible Outcome. The ego carnage everywhere would have been wonderful to behold, even with a SB winning team.
I would have enjoyed the drama. It would have been fun.
It would have torched the Patriots fan base, the Jets fan base, the Giants fan base, the Falcons fan base, the Krafts, Woody Johnson, Arthur Banks, the Maras, BB himself, Rex Ryan, a buttload of media clowns, and so much more.
It would have been as if a cat 5 tornado blew through the NFL.
