College Football thread

Very smart move. Good to see a guy realize he isn’t ready & another year in college will only help him further develop
Agree. He might actually want a degree, too. I don’t know if he has his Bachelors already, but he could want his Masters. I actually think we will see more of this since they’re getting paid pretty handsomely with NIL.

The Go Bowling Military Bowl between East Carolina and NC State got so out of hand that eight players were ejected in an all-out brawl that led to one of the referees getting a cut that caused bleeding.

East Carolina sealed the Go Bowling Military Bowl when Dontavius Nash picked off CJ Bailey’s pass attempt with less than a minute remaining. That play put the final stamp on a 26-21 victory for Blake Harrell’s group.

The brawl led to eight player ejections, with one of the referees suffering a cut that led to noticeable cut and blood on his face.

As you can see in the videos below, it appears that the brawl commenced after East Carolina’s Yannick Smith grabbed the towel of Tamarcus Cooley on NC State:

Five Wolfpack players were ejected from the game, while three East Carolina players were tossed for their involvement in the brouhaha.

East Carolina Wins Their First Military Bowl

Saturday’s 26-21 victory marked the first Military Bowl victory for the Pirates’ football program. The school was supposed to play Boston College in the 2021 game, but it was canceled due to COVID-19.

At long last, the Pirates have the Military Bowl added to their football team’s trophy room.

We've heard of college football players opting out of bowl games to not risk injury and prepare for the NFL draft but this is the first time we've seen a player quit at halftime. This is the situation the University of Miami found themselves in when starting quarterback Cam Ward opted out of the second half of their Pop-Tarts Bowl against Iowa State.

The Cyclones ended up beating the Hurricanes 42-41.

We assume the decision to sit out the second half wasn't Ward's. I'm sure someone got into his ear and told him it was in his best interest to not play the second half and not risk an injury before the 2025 NFL draft. Regardless, this is something Ward is going to have to answer to with every NFL team that meets with between now and the draft

The situation is only made more complicated now by the fact that the University of Miami refused to let the media talk to Ward. This only casts an even bigger shadow on the entire event.

Another reason this decision could be one he comes back to regret is because there's no clear-cut No. 1 quarterback in this draft and Ward needs to do everything he can do to push Colorado's Shedeur Sanders to be the top quarterback off the board.

Alabama fans and players talked all that shit about SMU, but they’re losing 16-10 to 7-5 Michigan. Jalen Milroe cannot read a defense to save his life. He needs a no bullshit coach at the next level to have even a modicum of hope to make it.

On a personal level, I’m happy they postponed the Sugar Bowl. I’ll go ahead and extend the betting window for it since I’m now sober and should be able to handle simple math again. Late night last night, and I don’t have the energy to stay up for that.

As an American? Gay as FUCK that they postponed it. That’s a W for that towelhead who plowed his truck through that crowd. Keep the game as scheduled.
