Sausage, Gravy, and Biscuit Pie

Ingredients:

• 1 lb sausage
• 2 cups milk
• 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
• 8 biscuits (pre-made or homemade)
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
• 1/2 teaspoon ground sage
• Optional: 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes for a spicy kick
Directions:
1. Cook the sausage in a large skillet over medium heat until it’s browned. As it cooks, break up the meat into smaller pieces.
2. Sprinkle flour over the cooked sausage, stir it in, and let it cook for about 2 minutes.
3. Gradually pour in the milk while stirring constantly. Turn up the heat to medium-high, letting the mixture come to a boil. Then, reduce the heat and let it simmer until the gravy thickens, which should take around 5 minutes. Season the gravy with salt, pepper, and sage.
4. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
5. Arrange the biscuits in a single layer in a 9×13 inch baking dish.
6. Pour the sausage gravy over the biscuits.
7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the biscuits turn golden brown.

Prep Time: 15 minutes | Cooking Time: 30 minutes | Total Time: 45 minutes Calories: 350 kcal per serving | Servings: 6 servings

I could see using some fresh nutmeg instead of pepper flakes.

there's an error. you're not going to get a crust if you put the biscuits just on the bottom. and that crust doesn't look like biscuits at all. i'd use pillsbury crescent roll dough to make it look like that.

Sometimes the simplest things..

In another group I'm in for Boomers, I posted this picture and said how much I liked it as a kid. I still eat it once in a while. The post kind of blew up in the group. It has over 500 likes in the 4 hours it's been up. Lots of comments too. All positive, except this on woman who said it made her cry because it reminded her of her mother. She has to be at least 60...

My garden is really pumping out the produce right now, although the tomatoes are slow to ripen for some reason. Last night, to use up some of the harvest, I breaded some zucchini, yellow squash and Japanese eggplant, and then shallow fried them in until crispy on the edges and creamy in the middle.

Customers on social media have been furious with Chipotle for allegedly skimping on its burrito bowl portions this year. Now, the fast-casual chain’s CEO said the company is making changes.

“First, there was never a directive to provide less to our customers,” CEO Brian Niccol said during an earnings call Wednesday. “With that said, getting the feedback caused us to relook at our execution across our entire system.”

Niccol said the company will make “generous portions” more consistent across its more than 3,500 restaurants. He said about 10% of stores are outliers in portion sizes, and those locations will have to be retrained to the “right standards.”...
