Because you'd have to give something up to get him, and The Patriots wouldn't be pushing it if it was over a 6th or 7th round pick. They'd just have pulled the trigger.
I don't know man, there's no way the team would (or should) take equal or worse draft capitol than they paid for the player, a 5th isn't enough IMO. He's already here, he's already improved as a player.

It's not that cut and dry, though. He's 25, if memory serves. He's trapped behind the perceived QBOTF, who's also the QB of the now. He's reportedly pushing to be traded because he wants to start. His "improvement" was one game against a team that wanted to lose that game. And he's not a Vrabel pick.
