FREE AGENCY THREAD (and Potential Trade Bait)

On it's own, the move to bring in Thuney would be fine. But consider having to possibly throw in an additional pick on top of a 4th, for a 32 yo guard, and whether he wants a new contract or not. If they are going balls out for Stanley now your left side is costing what? 40-45 million per year and they are 31 and 32? I understand the reluctance to do that, especially with LT being the biggest need on the team.

Patriots 4th round pick - #105 this year

Bears 4th round pick - not until 2026

So the Patriots compensation would have been the better deal for the Chiefs in terms of straight value

Why would the Patriots offer a 4th from this year if a 4th from next year got it done?

You were saying that they'd have to exceed the Bears price. I noted an easy solution. The Patriots have 9 picks in this year's draft, including 2 3rds, (69 and 77), so moving on from 107 is already covered by the higher extra pick.

Pathetic.

Absolutely pathetic.

well to be fair

that 4th rounder can be used on a JAG that isn't on the roster in 2 years, which is much more enticing than addressing the left side of your pitiful Oline with a HoFer for the next 4 years

checkers vs chess

Teams highly overvalue mid/late round picks.

If Scar was coaching the OL and said that he had a couple of 4th-5th rounders in mind, I'd worry about those picks. He's not, so I'm fine with th Patriots not drafting the next addition to this group:
