General chit chat and shit talk.

I wish the Patriots could find a receiver like him ....

He's done such a tremendous job of improving himself that he really deserves the recognition. When he first came on the scene, he was not an NFL caliber player. But BB (or someone who was able to persuade BB) saw enough in him to keep him on the team anyway. And, by the time his contract was up, it was a mistake for the team to let him walk in favor of Smith-Schuster.

So congrats to him for making it this far into the season without a drop, and for more than earning his money.

@everyone Anyone interested in going to a UCONN basketball game in Hartford?
I have a pair of tickets for
DePaul Blue Demons at UConn Huskies Basketball - XL Center: Section 234 Row P - January 29, 2025 08:00pm

I was at the car wash the other day and I saw this guy in the other line. I thought to myself should somebody tell him that if he does spend $15 to get his truck washed all the rust that's holding it together might fall off and his whole truck might be destroyed?🤣

I bought a 1995 Escort in '97 and had it until 2015. The floor rusted out. The car was running perfectly but they wouldn't let it pass inspection. It was an ugly car but very dependable.

Yeah Fords definitely had a rust problem. they also went through a weird phase where they did strange engineering things to their cars that nobody ever really wanted.my ex had one and it had the horn on a stalk on the steering wheel. it also had some other weird thing that locked your key in your ignition. you had to push a button to release your keys if I remember correctly.

It was 20 years old so I got my money's worth out of it. The salt in the sand they use during the winter really accelerates the rusting.

I know what you mean by the key button. I've seen them before but I don't remember ever having one like that.

You and your freaking escorts.

Heavy buildings on soft soil are sinking. Some of the least surprising news ever:

Almost three dozen high-rise condos and luxury hotels along the beach in South Florida are sinking or settling in unexpected ways, in some cases because of nearby construction, according to a new study.

The 35 buildings surveyed along an almost 12-mile stretch from Miami Beach to Sunny Isles Beach have sunk or settled by 0.8 to 3.1 inches. About half of the buildings are less than a decade old, according to scientists at the University of Miami Rosenstiel School of Marine, Atmospheric, and Earth Science. The study was published Friday.

“The discovery of the extent of subsidence hotspots along the South Florida coastline was unexpected,” Farzaneh Aziz Zanjani, the lead author, said in a statement. “The study underscores the need for ongoing monitoring and a deeper understanding of the long-term implications for these structures.”...

I'm going to be revisiting an old pastime. From my childhood to my early adult years I played pinball. I used to be good, I've won a few local tournaments and lots of free drinks! That was before Pong came along and ushered in the video games. I stayed at a summer campsite in Brimfield Mass which was about 45 minutes from our house. My parents had a trailer on a lake there and we'd spend pretty much the whole summer there. It had a small pavilion and there was a jukebox and a pinball machine.

The pinball was 10 cents or 3 games for a quarter. I could go there when it opened at 9:00 AM and play all day long until they closed at 9:00 PM for only 25 cents. I'd get on the game and keep winning free games almost every game I played. I used to leave 15-16 games on it when the place closed at night.

Kids would get pissed off when they saw me on it because they knew they weren't going to get a chance to play. I used to take breaks to smoke some weed and I'd sell 5 games for a quarter and let them play those while I got high. I'd come back refreshed, and with a buzz, ready to kick the machines ass some more. I did this for years being the product of a misspent childhood.

When I got to be 16-17, I could go to bars and drink all night as long as I could find people to play and bet against me. I loved pinball and of course I had the song Pinball Wizard dedicated to me at dances and shit.

But, I haven't played in probably about 35 years or so. I didn't want to stop playing but everywhere went to video games, which I pretty much sucked at.

Now, there a place about a block from where I live that opened up that has nothing but pinball machines. While I like the idea of going there to play, they charge $12.00 for all you can play for as long as you want. Kind of a sleazy way to do it, I like to earn my games not have them given to me. I rather pay per game, but that's not up to me. I'm going to go there and give it a shot, to see if I still enjoy it and like the atmosphere in there.
