Since we seem to have a number of wrestling fans, I figured why not have a thread for this. It's the only "sport" other than football I really care about anyway.


Here was my favorite moment as a kid. I was a HUGE fan of World Class Wrestling in Texas...way more than the cartoonish WWF. The Von Erichs were my childhood heroes.

This is Kerry Von Erich winning the NWA World Title from Ric Flair in Texas Stadium. About 50k+ fans there. At the time, it was the largest wrestling crowd ever in the U.S. This was a tribute show for David Von Erich who had died in Japan three months earlier.

The only time I followed WWF at all was 97-2001. The Austin/Rock rivalry was the highlight, IMHO.
That’s when I got into it too. Both of those guys had amazing charisma despite being very different personalities.
