They love their soccer lol and the local professional league sells their players overseas cheap. As soon as they hit 16 years old if they have potential they ship them to Europe. So once they play in the national team the majority of Uruguyans play in the top of the European leagues.

Uruguay might be bringing their “who really cares?” effort for the game. Oddsmakers have the game as a coin flip. USA is still 4th best odds to win the whole thing.
