NFL General News

The Steelers released outside linebacker Preston Smith on Friday, the team announced.

The move saves the Steelers $13.4 million in salary cap room for 2025.

Smith, 32, arrived in Pittsburgh from Green Bay in a trade deadline deal in November. The Steelers sent a 2025 seventh-round pick to the Packers...

The NFL owes Richie Incognito a very public apology and at least a year's salary, and Incognito should sue for it:

Remember that whole "bullying scandal" that rocked the NFL back in 2013? Former Miami Dolphins offensive lineman Jonathan Martin accused his teammates, particularly fellow lineman Richie Incognito, of "bullying" Martin.

The situation was dubbed "Bullygate" and led to attorney Ted Wells, who was hired by the NFL, investigating Martin's claims. Wells concluded that Dolphins players and coaches did bully Martin.

Well, after over a decade, Martin now admits that he "never" felt "bullied."...

What a bunch of assholes

If the asking price for Kupp is as low as I'm hearing, they should absolutely be targeting both him and a taller OWR in free agency. They can make those moves and still fortify both lines with expensive signings as needed.

Good! Don't want him.

Problem solved for you, then. But Larry Bird's not walking through that door...

I'm watching the Barth/Hines PPP live today and they are getting me black-pilled on the OT FA prospects, much like WR these days you just rarely see the top young guys hit the market. They opine that in both cases we are looking at upgrading the floor rather than the ceiling, and I agree with that as far as FA goes. We are not likely getting a dominant "X" type guy in FA, but we need someone reliable to play there. I still like Egbuka in the draft if we can maybe trade back into the late 1st. Barth mentioned Christian Kirk, could be had, though he's more slot and probably Z. So those guys, Slayton, Godwin, Kupp, definitely could bring the floor up. Both WR and OT probably going to have to hit big in the draft to get that top level player...

Now a trade for any of the following would be fucking sweet, Devante Adams, Garret Wilson, DK Metcalf, Sutton, or Pickens.

This article is interesting too, has each teams needs and assets.

To make things worse with the WRs...

Problems:

  • Metcalf has made it clear that he doesn't want to go to the Patriots
  • Adams was, reportedly, part of the problem for McDaniels in Vegas
  • Pickens is the sort of basket case you avoid at all cost, unless he's coming in on a minimum deal with not outgoing assets

Agree on Pickens, he's a prick.. I didn't know that about DK... Wonder if Josh and Adams could play nice, that would be a good short-term move, Adams still looked very good last season.
