NFL General News

I'm interested to see how this new XFL style kick return goes. If the option is no kickoff or this style, I'm for trying it. There are some interesting aspects of it. The first is kicking it into the endzone gives the opponent starting position at the 35yrd line. That really incentivizes keeping the ball in play and trying to stuff them. Also could mean keeping different types of players on the roster for special teams. I thought Kyles/Barth break it down pretty well below starting at the 6:50 mark. They do break down the hip-drop rule before that, but I hate that rule. They make a great point there as well opining that you might want bigger-stronger-tackle-breaker style ball carriers now because how are you gonna stop them.?

danny white was my fave qb in that era, very underappreciated. and he was their punter too. i do remember he was in that league . without looking it up,i think it was the memphis southmen or something. i am a HUGE proponent of the nfl having a developmental league and was super pissed when nfle got shut down. if not for that league, several qbs may never have made it to the nfl including 3 sb qbs(2 sb winners) one of whom is a h.o.f.er. and the pats might not have had vinatieri.
