So just like I stated several weeks ago, the whole nonsense about Jablone Bustamante being the starter was a complete waste of time. Drake Maye, despite playing with a backup OL, looked several tiers above him last night. In fact, the kid already looks like one of the top QBs in the NFL.
There is simply no way you can keep him on the bench without risking a riot breaking out in the middle of a game when Jabroni Babaian is out there looking like he is throwing and moving under water.

I’d start Brissett until I know that the OL won’t get Maye killed or ruined. Or until Brissett gets crushed and knocked out for the season.
I love that people think Brissett should be judged by exhibition game play, as if starters need to be dominating in these travesties. It shows just how far the team has fallen that people are looking for any excuse to throw an unprepared rookie to the wolves so soon after seeing what happened to the last young 1st round pick who had that happen to him here.

That wasn't aimed at anyone in particular. I'm seeing that here, but I'm also hearing it on the radio. And I'm not just seeing/hearing it from fans, either. It's a sign of desperation, and I'm not blaming people for being desperate after the shit show that BB/Kraft productions has been giving us starting with the decision not to bring back Brady.
Brisset has been renamed Black Mac. And so it shall be.

I don't see why there is any doubt about who should start. The team is an instant Super Bowl contender with Maye at QB. Elite defense + elite QB. The elite QB will make the OL look much better than it is on paper.
Not starting Drake Maye would be equivalent to not playing Malcolm Butler in SB52.
Luckily, Jerod said the best QB will win the job, which means Maye is the week 1 starter.
