NFL GameDay Official Super Bowl LIX thread

GameDay Discussion
Really the only thing I like about Mahomes is he owns his personality and doesn’t try to be black or white or in between. He’s kind of nerdy but he doesn’t put on some act. The opposite of Kelce, the insecure, fake tough gangsta.

There is nothing - absolutely fucking NOTHING - to like about that motherfucking bastard.

He didn’t in the Super Bowl, since he had 9 fourth quarter go-ahead drives, and won blowout win, so that should be obvious. But for postseason, he played in over 40 games.

The only games where the Patriots really got socked were against the Ravens in 2009 and 2012 (well, second half mostly). Ravens were just the better team those games, Patriots got into an early hole and didn’t have the offensive firepower to get into a shootout against the best defense of that era. In 09 the offense already wasn’t great and Welker got injured in last game of season. In 12 Gronkowski was out and Brady had to chuck up shit to guys like Brandon Lloyd and a geriatric version of Deion Branch while facing a ridiculous pass rush.

I think the 2010 loss to the Jets was his worst performance in the postseason.

2009 was the year that Welker was lost during the last game of the season, it was a bad Patriots team even before that happened, and Brady was still working back to full Brady post-ACL surgery. This sort of thing being ignored or minimized is why reading other people trying to justify their favorites against Brady has gotten to the point where it's almost physically painful.

And Mahomes has never shown the ability to win without a strong overall team around him, while Brady's shown the ability to carry such teams further than they should have gone, which is how he's eventually been beaten during playoff runs.
