All 3 need a QB. All 3 would have been possible trading partners for the #1 overall pick, in order to grab their top QB choice.

I know enough about this class to understand there isn’t a QB, or player otherwise, worth trading away the kind of haul we’ve seen the last 2 times there were trades at the top. (Young/Lance)
I’m not saying it doesn’t matter that we won. It definitely sucks to drop to 4. But saying it sets the teams back 2 years or is franchise-altering is definitely an overreaction. You still draft your top OT, or edge rusher or whoever. It’s possible Travis Hunter is there, not that I think they should draft him.

At least 50% of the players involved in that “win,” who were chest thumping and going all out, won’t play another snap for the team, and many of them won’t even play in the NFL again. These were 2nd and 3rd string scrubs on the NFL’s actual worst team. But yes, team culture, attitude, the winning spirit, it’s contagious you know.

The thing is, obviously it's true you don't want to be losing. And it's true that tanking can cause problems. But that's about taking a whole season, not a game or two (football), or even a month (baseball) where you play the call ups. Those things have been happening, without the magical creation of a loser mentality, for decades.
And you're absolutely right about the roster, too. If half the team (or more) is gone, that's half the team (or more) who's mentality will be irrelevant to the Patriots next year.
You not liking the QBs is not the same as no team in the entire league being willing to gamble on one. As of now, Sanders is expected to go #1 overall.
