GameDay Discussion

Now you want to hear a real life story about slavery, boy? You got it.

There once was a group of negroes from Kansas City. These were lazy negroes who had no intention of working or earning a living. On January 16, 2016, as the Kansas City negroes travelled North, looking to steal from a group of Gigachads and wealthy scholars from New England, they quickly learned that they had made a grave mistake. The Northerners captured these negroes, teabagged them for their own entertainment, and then decided to enslave them. They would work the fields and engage in other miscellaneous tasks set out by their owners. The negroes, given their lazy nature, were fed up with being put to work.

In 2018, a young half negro from Kansas City named Patrick had emerged as a beacon of hope for the slaves. With a haircut resembling the pubes of an 80s porn star, a face like a crackhead, and the voice of a frog, he was the most desirable man in Kansas City. Feeling strong and confident, Patrick sent out a challenge to the Northern slave owners - a battle to decide the fate of the slaves. The battle would take place on January 20, 2019. On this day, the Northerners travelled to Kansas City. Patrick's army put up a valiant effort, but in the end, it was not enough. Like all of the Kansas City negroes before him, he was ultimately forced to bend the knee to the Gigachads from the North. It was on this day that the entire population of Kansas City learned that their Northern owners are not to be fucked with, especially in the month of January.

The Northerners, being benevolent owners, have treated their slaves well over the years. Each year, the owners have allowed their slaves to participate in sporting competitions against other groups of slaves from states around the country. In February of each year, a trophy is handed out to the winner of this competition. The Kansas City slaves have won this trophy 3 times within the last 5 years. This has provided the slaves with a sense of accomplishment, but yet there is still a large void inside felt by each and every one of them, as they are not autonomous and independent beings. They will forever be nothing more than the property of their owners from New England - slaves who are forced to obey every command.

You get cool points for entertaining me

Anyone blaming the QB for Sunday needs to watch the game again. The top 3 reasons the Patriots lost that game:

OL
WR
Coaching

None of those 3 were because of the QB, and all 3 of those impacted the QB in a negative way. Also, as I showed before, this year's rookie QBs are off to slow starts, so the idea that Maye would be a better choice is a product of pure guesswork that ignores the reality of almost every single bit of context we have.
Jacoby does a good job of not losing the game, and that's great and all but he's not really capable of winning the game either. We don't know if Maye can not lose the game yet, he obviously has the talent to improve the offense though. His mobility would help get over the Oline troubles for sure.

Mobile QBs get sacked, just as pocket passers do.

Jayden Daniels has been sacked 7 times in his first two games. Jacoby has only been sacked 4 times.

Sure Maye is going to get sacked too, but he can make throws that Jacoby can't. But now that were are getting a pretty clear week 3 injury report with Sow and Lowe out, Andrews and Onwenu (Q)... go ahead and put Jacoby out there, he's gonna get killed and we'll see Maye within the next few weeks anyway.

The ability to make some throws that someone else can't doesn't mean anything if you can't make the same throws that those others can, or you can't do the other things required of a QB. Rookie QBs generally struggle, because they have to learn and develop, and the arm strength doesn't change that. And this team is not exactly set up to be rookie QB friendly.

Even if the decision has been made to put Maye in at some point during this season, Both Maye and the team are probably going to be better off waiting until the team is officially eliminated, or until the bye week, whichever is later, if injury doesn't make that impossible.
