Gift call for the 49ers. Yes, they were called for holding, but now they can inflict more misery with another play.
I'm all for putting Maye in the moment the team thinks he's ready, and I oppose any idea of putting him in before that, outside of emergency or garbage time. I just don't see the need to unfairly belittle Brissett over it. We all know that Brissett is a backup level QB. Nothing more really needs to be said about his play, so blaming him for shit that's not actually his fault makes no sense to me.
