I've always liked Drew, and my respect for him went up when I saw how he handled the injury / Tom starting. HE didn't like it, was pissed, but never once did he undermine Tom or the team. He showed everyone that he was a true professional.

I'm going to put this here, since we don't have a local sports media thread:

Audacy announced major changes in the weekday lineup at sports station WEEI in Boston. The Greg Hill Show will remain in morning drive, however, both of the other daytime shows during the week will be changed. Afternoon show co-host Adam Jones and weeknight host Rich Keefe will reunite and will be in middays. The new show is set to begin on August 26.

The station also has elevated Andy Hart as afternoon show co-host alongside Christian Arcand. The WEEI Afternoon Show will be heard weekdays from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. ET beginning August 27. The show will welcome various special guests throughout the week, including the New England Patriots starting quarterback, Boston Red Sox manager Alex Cora, ESPN insider Adam Schefter and former NBA player and current NBC Sports Boston Celtic analyst Brian Scalabrine...

...According to the release former afternoon show co-host Megan Ottolini will remain with the station as a full-time writer, succeeding Hart, and as a fill-in on-air host. The release does not mention Andy Gresh or Christian Fauria who had been the station’s midday show.

WEEI Makes Changes: Andy Hart and Christian Arcand to Follow Adam Jones and Rich Keefe; ‘Gresh & Fauria’ Not In Lineup

WEEI needs to fire the people deciding the lineups, because they've been terrible, and it's been obvious that they were going to be terrible. When they broke up the noon show earlier, they ditched Merloni and kept Fauria, which was an obvious mistake. They also brought over Jones, who's genuinely awful at his job, and placed him in the money slot with a woman who's voice is terrible for radio and who it would be high praise to call a radio lightweight. And they brought Gresh over from Providence, when he's also terrible. That made the station something that I simply couldn't listen to from 10-6.

And these replacement moves suck, too. I'm not even sure that either is an upgrade of even the smallest amount compared to the shows they're replacing. It's as if WEEI wants to fail.

Some thoughts from the last few pages of today's reports.

Tyquan better be able to prove it on the field, he's clearly at the top of the depth chart just from the way they've treated him this offseason and camp. He does look a good deal bigger this year, I noticed last game when he was standing next to teammates. #stillnotholdingmybreath

I think Slye has won the kicker job. Not gonna complain about cutting a 4th round kicker from BB's last year. Maybe you get him back to the PS.

I agree with @Deus Irae on the OL. probably Chuks or the rookie at LT.

Edit: forgot to add. I think they want to start Maye, but will go ahead with Brissett so that Maye can watch and get a feel for it. Probably taking into account the questions at OL too. At minimum this is the way they should handle it. Bring Maye in if/when the line gels, or Brissett gets hurt, whichever happens first.

Looks like someone in the organization has placed a large bet on the Bengals in week 1, and they want to ensure a loss by starting a QB who most of us on this board would perform better than.

I'm fine with it. You don't want to show off too much by just obliterating everyone from the start of the season. Be humble and let other teams win in September, then put Maye in there the following month and go in dry and deep on these faggots the rest of the season.
