Patriots news

Maye is already Josh Allen 2.0 after only 4 starts with zero talent around him. Even Josh Allen wasn't Josh Allen 1.0 in his rookie season. He absolutely sucked that year. Next year Maye easily overtakes Josh Allen.

Godchaux also brings up another great point. Free agents will want to come play here with Maye. Another reason why starting him this year was a necessity (should have started even sooner.)

I’m excited. We have very few big, long term contract liabilities and the two most important positions filled with incredibly promising players in Maye and Gonzalez. One big draft, and a successful free agency period, we could see trickle down where a bunch of okay players are suddenly a lot better with more support around them. If Maye is as good as he looks so far, I think this team will be back in the playoff hunt next season. So much parity in this league, every team is a few key moves (especially QB) away from flipping.

If our D wasn't so thin in key spots from injury we could have a couple more wins this year. I love the playmaking ability of Maye, he's got it.. just need better players around him so he only has to do Mahomo-level scrambling, like 3 or 4 times a game to get 1st downs.

To which he added: "And they're not soft either..."
Well they were smart. They weren’t the most athletic, they damn sure weren’t the best (at anything), but they were SMART. It was the roster equivalent of Rowe over Butler in 2017.

It wasn't Rowe over Butler as much as it was Johnny Badmostly over Butler.

We really need the Krafts to hire a HC we can be excited about. Maye needs someone that has been successful running an offense in the era of the NFL. Ben Johnson is first on the list as HC, especially if they either go or win the Super Bowl this season. Maye should be an intriguing piece for him.

Mayo and the staff needs to be cleaned out at season's end.

They’ll get the standard 3 years unless they fuck up comically. It’ll happen eventually. Mayo is not a good head coach at this point in his career. The adjustments are nonexistent and the defense is vastly underperforming vs where it was under Bill.
