Patriots news

He still has two years on his contract.. I suppose he could get cut/traded though. Honestly looked like he was losing a step this season.

Heard a report/radio rumor that the Patriots would look to trading for Tyreek if they don't get Higgins.

If the Pats are going to add an UFA WR particularly an older veteran, there is a decent group to choose from. Now they are all old, and a couple are coming off of major injuries and may not be available early next season. There's also the possibility the player is not interested in playing here. Reportedly one of my favorites, Keenan Allen has said he'll only willing to play for 3 teams, either LA being 2 of them..

I think Amari Cooper is pretty washed, I'd love Godwin but the injury concerns me. Hopkins is kinda washed but I would be okay with it I guess. Diggs is coming off an ACL. Keenan for sure if he'd come here, which I doubt he would.

Other names I would take a look at if I were GM. Just looking for any of these guys to knock someone else off the roster,
Slayton
Westbook-Ikine
Demarcus Robinson
Dyami Brown
Elijah Moore

Fucking love that McDaniels is back.

Bourne and McDaniels crossed paths during the eight-year veteran wideout’s first season with the Patriots. McDaniels, the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at the time, helped Bourne reach career-best heights. Bourne recorded career-high marks in receiving yards (800), receptions (55) and touchdowns (five), and will enter 2025 two years removed from his torn ACL injury with McDaniels back on the sidelines.

he seems to want out of Miami because they arent competitive.. not sure he'd want to leave sunny Miami for the frigid NE to a team that won *4 games

Diggs to me is potential cancer for Maye and lockerroom
Higgins id definitely want
Keenan Allen wont play here
Amari Cooper is completely washed i agree
Chris Godwin is good, but im not sure about $25/mil a year good
cant believe Brandin Cooks still in the league, no thanks
Diontae Johnson was raging at staff after winning a playoff game for not getting ball enough... would keep him away from Maye
I wanted Hopkins back when we had Mac Jones, he's solid.. but real old now.. still worth bringing him in, just not as our #1
Mike Williams would be good #2
maybe Tyler Boyd as a #2
maybe Allen Robinson as a #2

thats about it.. the others are all jags

I think Mike and A.Rob are both toast, especially A.rob.

My favorite non-oldie's are Slayton - who's a proven vet, solid player and legit deep threat who's played well with shitty QB's and bad teams. I think Westbrook is interesting, Vrabel ties, solid depth piece, not old. I added Dyami Brown in there because he's been playing his ass off the last few weeks for Washington, he's only 25 and could be one of those rare year 3/4 breakout players. I'd take a shot.

Higgins, Cooks, Slayton & Dyami Brown are, at first glance, my top 4...

RE: the above video, film breakdown towards the end.. I forgot how much Josh changed the offense for Cam Newton...

Yeah.... His changes for non-Brady players is one of the things I imagine gave him an edge in this job hunt.

And, not to excuse his failures as either a coach or O.C., but there were reasons for the failures in Vegas, Denver and St. Louis that were not McDaniels faults (lots of injuries, and not enough time for implementation in St. Louis, Carr's inconsistency which has been with him his whole career, locker room problems because the team didn't blow Cutler out before McDaniels arrived in Denver) that became big parts of the problems. And those things get plastered onto him by critics as if he was 100% to blame for them.

New England Patriots safety Jabrill Peppers has pleaded guilty to one charge of possessing cocaine before his domestic violence trial gets underway on Thursday.

Peppers - who was arrested hours after his 29th birthday in October for allegedly strangling and assaulting his on-off girlfriend with a deadly weapon - admitted to a Massachusetts judge that he was carrying the illegal drug at the time of his arrest.

The NFL player has been ordered to remain drug-free and keep out of trouble for the next four months after making his guilty plea, with his trial for domestic violence slated to begin later on Thursday.
He is still facing three other charges related to his arrest on the morning of October 5, 2023, including counts of strangulation and assault and battery...

Some other interesting things I hadn't thought off. We have a bunch of guys who already played under Josh, Rham, Bourne, Andrews, Onwenu, Henry were here with Josh's last stint. That familiarity will be huge. I wonder if Hooper will be back as well with the Vrabel connection.

Rham and Gibson have to be happy about this move, Pop too.. Josh should get the most out of them.
