NFL GameDay Week 17 GDT

GameDay Discussion
I’m not sure when these teams are going to learn from the majority of NFL history, but someone is going to steeply overpay for Darnold in the offseason.
If he is dead set on starting I can't imagine there's more than 1 or 2 teams that would be interested.

Smart play is for the Vikings to tag and trade, and for a team to offer conditional picks in return.
And then the Vikings are stuck with him and that tag when nobody wants to offer up that compensation

Some brain dead team will do it. Never underestimate the stupidity of the majority of NFL squads. Some QB-hungry team will take that chance. Then, they won’t have Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison, and the clock will strike midnight for Darnold.

I'm thinking Jets

Here are the teams that would potentially be in the market, obviously depending on draft position.

Titans
Giants
Raiders

Possibly (but probably not)
Saints
Browns

Jets can't go back down that road, can't imagine Darnold would want to either.

I feel like his best move is to stay in MN.. He needs a talented team and a good coach or he's going to revert back into the old Darnold. IMO
.

He wouldn’t go back to the Jets…it is a QB black hole…..only QB’s with any success the last 30 years were Chad Pennington, somewhat Mark Sanchez, and Vinny Testaverde.

Damn, there goes a 2nd qtr scoring opportunity…

Per ChatGPT:

O.J. Simpson (1973)

  • Total rushing yards: 2,003
  • Games played: 14
  • Average rushing yards per game: 143.1
    • This remains the highest single-season rushing yards per game average in NFL history.

Eric Dickerson (1984)

  • Total rushing yards: 2,105 (all-time record)
  • Games played: 16
  • Average rushing yards per game: 131.6
So what you're saying is oj is the real (record)killer

Turns out KOC is a really good coach
It was weird listening to Brady talking about how KOC does things. On Wednesday here are the things we need to do to win. on Friday we do situational football. it just sounds so familiar. I admit I do smile when I hear Brady saying things that I've heard verbatim coming out of bill's mouth like before you win you have to stop from losing.

I'm sure Kevin learned plenty from those two in his short time with the team.

He’s a shoo-in for COTY. To go 14-2 with a shot to win maybe the best division in football in Week 18? Even right now, who else do you give it to?

Completely agree, especially considering he's doing it with the backup. The only other contender I'd think is Dan Quinn

Which means it goes to Reid for best record with all those injuries (and arrests)
