"They paid me the most"

Interesting that he said Vrabel wants to change the culture.

"They welcomed me with open arms," he said of the culture he's encountered in Foxborough. "I just came back from a visit up there last weekend, signing my contract, getting to know the staff, and touring the building. It's going to be cool. Coach Vrabel was just preaching to me how they are going to use me in their defense. Also, how he wants a guy at every level of the defense for free agency. He wants us to come in and try to change the culture around with what's been going on in New England the last couple of years. I definitely think he picked the right guys for that."

Yeah.... "the culture" is getting whole lot of attention on talk shows. And much fun was had, as a result, when it was learned that Diggs had been brought in, and much hostility to the notion when it was learned that Andrews was getting cut.

I'll start to buy that culture change stuff if they cut loose both of last year's WR draft picks (not just one of them) and Boutte. Until then, it's just a talking point to me, because of Andrews and Slater not being brought back.

Kenneth Sims, the No. 1 overall pick in the 1982 draft, died Friday at the age of 65, Chip Brown of 247Sports reports. Sims died in his sleep after battling an illness, per Brown.

Sims played at the University of Texas, where he began his college career backing up Pro Football Hall of Famer Steve McMichael and Bill Acker. Sims made his presence known in his junior season, posting 131 tackles and earning All-Southwest Conference and consensus All-America honors.
As a senior in 1981, Sims became the school’s first Lombardi Award winner and was the top defensive vote-recipient for the Heisman Trophy. He again earned All-Southwest Conference and consensus All-America honors.

The Patriots used the first pick on him in 1982 in a draft that also featured Jim McMahon, Mike Munchak, Marcus Allen and Morten Andersen...

Yeah no shit Sherlock, he just won a Super Bowl, he's young and this is his chance at a big contract. Not a thing wrong with that

Then why didn't he say that in the first place?
