2023-24 Boston Celtics & NBA Thread

I wanted to be sure Porzingas was going to play before I bet, and I ended up forgetting until about 4 minutes after the game had started. That's twice I've done that, now.
Celtics must be like 100-0 ATS when Jaylen Brown doesn’t play.

On patsfans I’ve been saying all year they should be using a lineup of Tatum - Hauser - Porzingis - Holiday - White. Basically it's their starting five but subbing Brown for Hauser. That combo had only played four minutes together all season until they finally used it as the starting rotation last night and look what happened.

Now there’s less redundancy since Hauser is an off ball player and teams need to defend him getting any space on the perimeter.

Given the money they've sunk into Jalen, I doubt it's even on the radar. But maybe they could at least up the time together after the start...

You're a Dubs fan too? That was a great game, but we still have trouble closing out games.
Yessir! We smoking that Jazz pack tonight up big entering the halfway point of the 3rd.

The Bucks just had one of the most terrible losses of the year.

I love that they’re face planting with Lillard. Dude is a 2000s superstar style bum.

I thought he was going to be great, but now it seems more and more likely that he's either washed, or Portland just made him a volume shooter.

And the game almost got out of hand for us lol. Klay went off though

To be fair, Lillard's gone to a new team, started out injured, and has had to adjust to two different head coaches, as well.

And I don't think Milwaukee understood what the impact of their team switching from a high-level defender who was a willing passer at PG to a terrible defender and more aggressive shooter at PG was going to be, in terms of fitting within the whole defensive framework. While it's possible that it may all start to fit together by the time of the playoffs, they really seem to have underestimated the importance of Holiday to their team, both in terms of his defense and in terms of his willingness to be a facilitator.

Klay should always start from the bench, my friend.

He should but I'm not sure if his ego will be cool with it. He's great from the bench and can always provide a spark when needed.

I hate all star breaks

Carmelo Lillard wins MVP for jacking up 26 shots and playing as hard and serious as possible - trying like hell to win the award - when laid back, fun, hometown hero Haliburton goes 10-14 on threes.

Lillard - 39 pts on 26 shots
Haliburton - 32 pts on 16 shots

NBA has to do something quick or it'll turn into the Probowl if it hasn't already
It’s somehow worse.

I saw an idiot on Twitter suggesting they play for home court advantage. That’s a terrible idea too. I wouldn’t mind seeing them get some money if they win but it’s such a bad look for them to be grumbling about this after that shit show last night. They’re literally mocking the competitive nature of the sport.
