A bitch thread

A U.S. Air Force veteran who was facing a possession of child pornography charge when he fled the country appears to have confirmed, in a propaganda video released Monday, that he has joined the Russian army. He insisted he is not a traitor.

"I’m Will. I’m from Massachusetts,” Wilmer Puello-Mota, who is also a former City Council member in Holyoke, Massachusetts, said in the five-minute video released by Russia's Defense Ministry. "My call sign is 'Boston.'"

Puello-Mota, 28, is serving as a reconnaissance drone operator with the Russian military units fighting the Ukrainians in the Donetsk region, according to the Defense Ministry, which identified him as both an “American with Russian citizenship” and a “former American citizen.”

"I don't consider myself a traitor," Puello-Mota, dressed in combat gear, said in the video.

Puello-Mota made no mention in the video of the criminal charges he was facing when he fled in January to Russia via Turkey.

Instead, he said, “I’m from Boston, Massachusetts, and I served 10 years in the U.S. Air Force, some years in the Massachusetts International Guard, and I did two years as a city councilor.”

Holyoke City Council President Tessa Murphy-Romboletti said she recognizes him in the video.

"I can confirm that it appears to be Will in the video," she said via email.

Puello-Mota was supposed to show up in a Rhode Island courtroom on Jan. 9 and plead guilty to possessing sexually explicit images of a child and other charges that could have sent him to prison for at least five years, his lawyer, John M. Cicilline, said in an interview with The Boston Globe.

Cicilline said Puello-Mota told him the day before that he had other plans.

“He said, ‘I joined the Russian army,’ or something like that,” Cicilline told The Globe. “I thought he was joking.”

Cicilline also told the newspaper that Puello-Mota wanted a career in politics and thought being charged with possessing child pornography had ruined his life.

“I’m sure he joined the Russian army because he didn’t want to register as a sex offender,” Cicilline said.

Cicilline did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the latest development at his law office in Providence, Rhode Island.

Puello-Mota served in the Air Force and deployed to Afghanistan in 2015, when he was 19, service records obtained by NBC News show. He later served with the Massachusetts Air National Guard’s 104th Fighter Wing as a security forces airman.

Puello-Mota, a U.S. Air Force veteran and former elected official in Massachusetts who fled the U.S. after being charged with possessing sexually explicit images of a child, told his lawyer he joined Russia’s army, and video appears to show him signing documents in a military enlistment office in Siberia, Russia. Although Puello-Mota claimed to be from Boston, records show he actually lived 90 miles west of there in the city of Holyoke.

Puello-Mota served on the Holyoke City Council from 2021 to 2023 and was aligned with conservative council members who supported former President Donald Trump, the Globe reported.

Halfway through his term, the city tried to kick Puello-Mota off the council after it learned that he had been arrested in May 2020 when police found nude photos and videos on his phone of a 17-year-old girl they said he had gone to meet at a hotel in Warwick, Rhode Island. He was also charged with obstruction of the judicial system, forgery and counterfeiting.

Two months after he fled the States, The Republican, a newspaper based in Springfield, Massachusetts, reported that "Holyokers were abuzz" after video surfaced on Instagram of a man in a Russian uniform planting a U.S. flag in what appeared to be the wrecked Ukrainian city of Avdiivka.

His face was blurred, but the newspaper reported that people in Holyoke who knew Puello-Mota were convinced it was him.

In April, according to The Moscow Times, the Defense Ministry released a video of a man who appeared to be Puello-Mota inside an army enlistment office and identified him only as a former U.S. soldier named “Will.”

In the newest video, Puello-Mota explained why he joined the Russian army.

“When I got involved in politics, I zoomed out into the international level of politics, and you really stop and pause and think about what’s going on here,” he said. “You feel like you have to do something about it.”

Puello-Mota also blamed the U.S. for the war in Ukraine, said he has a girlfriend, and sounded thrilled to be a member of the Russian army.

"I love these guys," he said.

A California hospital is being sued for allegedly taking 361 days to alert a woman’s family that she had died, leading them to launch a statewide search for her recovery.

Jessie Peterson, 31, checked herself into Mercy San Juan Medical Center in Carmichael — about 14 miles from Sacramento — on 6 April 2023 after suffering a diabetic episode. She had been diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at age 10.

On 8 April 2023, she called her mother, Ginger Congi, asking her to pick her up from the hospital. About two hours later, Peterson would be dead. The next day, hospital officials transported her body to a storage facility where she remained until the following year.

After days went by without hearing from Peterson, her mom called the hospital on 11 April 2023 to check on her. A member of staff told her that her daughter had discharged herself against medical advice, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Her family launched a wide search trying to find the woman. Relatives reported her missing to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office and the California Department of Justice so Peterson would be included on their missing persons website.

The family passed out fliers and called police departments and hospitals looking for her. Peterson’s sister, Angie Rubino, spoke to homeless people in the area where her sister went missing in case anyone knew where she was.

On 12 April 2024, a representative of the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office contacted the family to tell them Peterson had died.

She’d been in a cold storage facility shelf labeled “Red 22 A” for 361 days.

The sheriff’s department said a doctor at the hospital filed a death certificate. State law requires medical professionals to file death certificates 15 hours after a patient passes.

The family is now seeking answers and $25m in damages, including punitive damages for “outrageous and inexcusable negligence” in handling the woman’s death.

The family said that inconsistencies with medical records do not shed light on what happened to Peterson or why it took so long to notify her family of her death.

By the time her family located her body, it had decomposed so much that an autopsy could no longer be performed.

A spokesperson for the hospital told the newspaper in a statement: “We extend our deepest sympathies to the family during this difficult time. We are unable to comment on pending litigation.”

Not too much to do I guess.....

Health officials in Massachusetts shuttered a 12-year-old boy’s ice cream stand after telling the youngster’s family that his entrepreneurial efforts were against state code.

Earlier this summer, Danny Doherty found himself bored and wanting a job, his mom Nancy told Boston 25 News, so he decided to make ice cream to sell.

His mother says she approved of his choice but said he had to donate half of his profits from his stand to charity.

Danny chose the Boston Bear Cubs. His 15-year-old brother, who is autistic and has moderate support needs, has played for the team for 10 years.

He decided to create a logo for the ice cream stand under the name “Tree Street Treats.”

After just a few days in business, the Norwood Health Department in Massachusetts sent the family a letter ordering them to shut down the stand. A complaint filed with the department led to the cease and desist notice.

The boy told NBC Boston the move was “disappointing.”

“I just wanted to raise money for my brother and I couldn’t do it anymore,” he told NBC10 Boston.

His mother echoed his sentiments.

“I was more disappointed and kind of shocked that somebody thought this was something worth complaining about, a little ice cream stand serving 20 people that we know,” she said.

Nancy, a single mother, said she didn’t have the energy to take on the government agency. The family decided to give away the rest of the ice cream, which included vanilla, shaved chocolate with cannoli and New England fluffernutter flavors.

In the end, news of the shutdown spurred action within the community to raise money for the team, resulting in more than $7,000 in donations.

One person even left an envelope full of cash for the team in Nancy’s mailbox.

“Since the story blew up in the news, we have been overwhelmed,” John Quill, a coach for the team, told Boston.com. Quill started the team 19 years ago while looking for a hockey team for his son who suffers from autism.

He reached out to the American Special Hockey Association, which asked him to start a team in the Boston area. The group meets on Saturdays to do a mix of drills and scrimmages against other local high school teams.

Another ice cream shop called Furlong’s Candies in Norwood took up the cause after Danny’s stand got shut down. The store held an event last weekend called “The Ice Cream Karen Social” to raise money for the team, bringing in another $3,600 in just two hours.

“I am in awe of how much good has grown out of a really disappointing and discouraging situation,” Nancy wrote on Facebook.

“Thank you to all the kind people out there. Never forget that you absolutely outnumber the Karens.”

The group is still accepting donations on their website.

WOODSTOCK, Conn. (WTNH) — A Woodstock woman is facing more than 100 animal cruelty charges after dozens of animals were seized from her home in distressing- and ultimately deadly- conditions.

59-year-old Tracy Donovan was located at the Northeastern Connecticut Council of Governments Animal Shelter in Killingly Wednesday, where she was taken into police custody.

She was charged with 103 counts of animal cruelty.

Her charges come after 96 dogs, two cats, two exotic birds, one wild rabbit, and two goats were removed from her residence, according to an arrest warrant. Of those, at least four dogs were euthanized due their severe conditions.

An investigation into Donovan began with a written compliant NECCOG received in January from a home appraiser, about the welfare of dogs in a home on Route 169.

According to the arrest warrant, photos taken during the appraisement showed household trash and construction material strewn around the property, several outbuildings and mobile campers, and about 20 dog crates containing small dogs inside.

“The conditions of the interior of the residence, scattered with wood shavings, animal feces, as well as a large amount of household garage about the entire house,” the warrant states.

The dogs in the photos did not appear to have access to water or food while “confined to small dirty cages and crates.” They also appeared underweight, extremely dirty, and matted, according to the warrant.

Another concerned person reported the home in June, after they saw the owner of the residence- identified as Donovan- offering dirty and skinny dogs and puppies for sale.

When a Connecticut Department of Agriculture State Animal Control officer and NECCOG representative visited the home, they reported an “extreme odor of urine and feces” even from 50 feet away.

They also verified conditions seen in the appraiser’s photos- describing the conditions as “deplorable.”

“Dozens of extremely dirty dog crates and cages containing live animals were found to be inside the residence. Feces and urine covered wood chips were found heavily scattered about the residence. The stench of feces, urine, and ammonia was found to be overwhelming to the officers executing the warrant,” the warrant describes.

A veterinary hospital listed the following health problems found in the 96 dogs: dehydration, severe matting of hair and fur, flea anemia, severe dental disease, skin infection, and long nails.

The hospital said they were all covered with dried urine and feces. The cats had similar issues, plus upper respiratory illness.

The exotic birds also showed signs of dehydration, skin infection, loss of feather, and beak issues and the goats were found to be dehydrated and anemic, according to the warrant.

The warrant stated all the health issues stemmed from lack of veterinary care, significant neglect, and lack of accessibility to food, water, and wholesome air.

Donovan was held on a $150,000 cash/surety bond. She was scheduled to appear in Danielson court on Aug. 22.

A personal bitch. About an hour ago (1:30 AM) I had just laid down to get some sleep. Sleep is very important to me because I only sleep a couple hours a night. I need to take advantage of it when I can.
I had been sleeping for maybe 10 minutes when all of a sudden I was jolted out of my sleep by a extremely loud, piercing noise. My fucking fire alarm was going off. These aren't like the little cheap ones you buy in the store, these are like industrial alarms that you can hear in at least 5 apartments away.
I jumped out of bed, ran into my kitchen to check if I had left something on the stove, I didn't. But on the way to check I hit my leg on a table and put a gash in it (my leg, not the table). In the meantime my cat';s going crazy running around at full speed meowing because of the noise. So, I'm limping around my apartment because I need to find a broom to shut the alarm off because my ceilings are 14 feet high. I had to press a button on the alarm to shut it off and can only reach it by standing on my bed with this broom. As I'm on top of my bed trying to shut the fucker off, my neighbor starts banging on my door to see if everything's alright. Keep in mind this is 1:30 in morning.
I finally got it to shut up after about 10 minutes after waking everyone on my floor and probably some people below me. Absolutely no reason for it to go off. As funny as it might be, afterwards I was pretty shaken up being awakened from a sound sleep into kaos. I was breathing heavily and having some chest pains along with the gash in my leg. Fucking stressed.
That killed my sleep for the night.

As one who also has sleeping issues, I wish you the best of luck with getting some winks.

I've never been a computer fixer guy, i can do simple stuff but especially with this laptop... everything in there is so tiny I can barely see it. I've opened it up to mess with the battery, I just don't think I have the patience (or vision) for it.

if you do attempt it, might want to invest in a grounding wrist strap to avoid destroying something else with static electricity
