Before the Titans finished up the 2024 regular season by losing to the Texans, we passed along word of growing chatter that their General Manager Ran Carthon was on thin ice.
That chatter turned out to be accurate. The Titans announced that they have fired Carthon on Tuesday...
Yup, gave Vrabel a shitty roster and then fired him. He's going to get a good job this year though.Vrabel must be riding high this week. He's going to get a new HG gig, and this guy got the axe:
Titans fire G.M. Ran Carthon
General Manager Ran Carthon isn’t the only executive who was fired by the Titans on Tuesday. Four others are now former Titans employees.
Via Paul Kuharsky, the team has fired vice president of team operations Brent Akers, vice president of football technology Anthony Pastrana, assistant general manager Anthony Robinson, and senior director of security John Albertson...
That defense was, somehow, some way, playing better at the end.He has ties to Ben Johnson supposedly. He had very little talent to work with there, he's a well respected coach from what I've read.
A couple other thoughts..
I like Daboll, I think he's a good coach. That GM has repeatedly fucked up, extended D.Jones, Signed Golladay, bad drafting up until the last year or two. Not having a QB makes a difference.
I like that Ben Johnson wants to interview here, talk around him this year is he wants a HC job and is only interviewing places he'd go. That is great news for this organization. The draw of Drake Make is real. I'll be very happy with him or Vrabel.
OOF. They fired Vrabel over a dispute with him.

No doubt, I mentioned as much in the game thread while they were playing. They got lots of sacks. That defense was, somehow, some way, playing better at the end.

Good movie by the way!
