Not watching. Please explain so I can have instant douche chills.
Mayo's nickname for RKK is "Thundercat", and he references him as "Thunder" like 10+ times throughout the conference
My takeaway is that Mac Jones is probably going to be the starter he was there smh
How fucking lame, no wonder Booster Seat picked Mayo.Mayo's nickname for RKK is "Thundercat", and he references him as "Thunder" like 10+ times throughout the conference
Me too, came here to say Mayo made a big deal about being the first black Patriots coach. So fucking cringe. Having real doubts about whether I can care about this Pats team.Tried to watch it, but they lost me when Mayo decided that interjecting DEI into the press conference was a good idea.
We need to discuss the blundering panic move by Kraft last season to write a coaching succession clause into the contract of an assistant coach/de facto coordinator who had virtually no chance to land a head coaching job with another team.
Breer had an article yesterday where Kraft said he regretted a hire earlier in his career and learned his lesson. It made no sense but was basically kissing Kraft’s ass because Kraft’s gut is supposedly always right. Except the contract with Mayo dispels the entire point of the article. The Patriots were handcuffed out of a head coaching search with guys like Harbaugh and Vrabel available because of Kraft’s panic move to prevent Mayo from leaving last year.
All that said, I’m not really pessimistic about Mayo. Coaching is really overrated. I don’t love that they’re going internal. I hope they decide on an outsider as OC rather than some Bill/Josh stooge.
Didn’t know that. It’s baffling why they didn’t conduct a real interview process given there’s such a small risk of losing Mayo to another team. The contract had a buyout clause. So Kraft could have gotten out of things just by paying off Mayo, if he'd wanted to.

Nothing predicts football success as well as geopolitical sympathies. The answer, judging by the press conference, is that the black dude was down for Israel.
