I am still nervous about Mayo's inexperience, but I have some hope after that press conference. He seemed sure of himself and ready to get down to business.
yea i didnt like his approach there, right after RKK said he was blind to color
then Mayo comes in and is like "Well I see color, because i think its important to understand so that we can drive racism, etc out.. and we all know there is a lot of it" type statement
this was around the time he was talking about his approach to the coaching staff, interviews, etc.. he acknowledged the people here weren't his choices, but he will evaluate and wants to find "developers of people" or something along those lines

i liked his vision of breaking down silos and having more collaboration and sharing of opinions... whether true or not, seems to be a perception that certain staffers felt their voices weren't heard
I think there are a lot of refreshing things Mayo can bring, but focusing on DEI political issues is not one of them. Just be the change you want to see, don't turn the head coach position of the NE Patriots into a social justice platform... that will backfire spectacularly if he does

I will clarify that I am not "out" on Mayo because if his comments today. There's a pretty good chance (RE-DEI) that he went through some corporate training regarding diversity and like many these days, has no clue about the true meaning of it once you strip away the rainbows, unicorns and buzzwords. I take him on his word about being a leader of men, a mentor and teacher. I'm sure he's not a retard in thinking that diversity be the #1 trait of the team in order to win. But we'll see.
