Film, TV, Netflix, HBO, Etc. Thread

The family just got back from Germany. Hopefully, Murphy is able to give Tata that gringo skirt steak before the show is over. The actress who plays her has a turd cutter on her. They try to hide it in the show but the dress gets stuck between those yams.

yea i was lusting after her watching that show, she hasn't really had many other parts outside of that

a shame you never get to see her naked

update: nevermind i lied, you def get to see her a little naked in the show... guess ill have to add that to the rewatch list

I can see why Pablo married her. She’s ride or die.

Watching Bojack Horseman again.

@Ice_Ice_Brady I like to watch horror movies when I work from home around this time of the year. Apparently I’ve been sleeping on 2010s horror movies because Insidious and Evil Dead were good fun.

I heard The Joker sucked.
But I always watch regardless

The title itself portends pretentious garbage. It's getting shredded by everyone…like all-time flop bad.

The only watchable comic hero movies in the last 20 years are the Dark Knight ones, though they’re still overrated.

I watched "Old" the other night, it was okay

The Penguin is great. Colin Farrell never gets enough recognition as one of the very best actors. @Kontradiction

The Batman version of The Sopranos? I think it’s easily the best show on TV right now. I’d have talked to you about it a while ago but didn’t think you liked the comic book stuff. Farrell is a phenomenal actor, but I think he’s been phenomenal in some bad stuff. I’m not sure if you saw “Alexander” back in the day, but it was terrible. He was great in “Minority Report,” but he was a supporting actor. I agree he’s underrated.

That show, altogether, has an underrated cast. Maroni is played by Clancy Brown, who is a great character actor. He may have carried Shawshank had it not been for Morgan Freeman. Theo Rossi finds a niche as always as a demented masochist who has been twisted by Arkham. Cristin Miloti should probably get an Emmy nod as Best Actress if that award show was still interested in raw talent.

If you like this, you might like the movie. Farrell carried “The Batman,” too, and that’s saying something because Paul Dano was haunting whenever he was on camera without the mask (even more than he was with the mask, IMO) and John Turturro was right at home as Falcone.

I like the Dark Knight and also I liked The Batman except the The Batman had a very lazy plot that didn’t match the greatness of the mood and tone. I can stomach the dark toned Batman movies just not the all out cheesy shit with the Marvel movies.

Just finished E4, holy shit, what a wonderful episode. Belongs up there with some of the best stuff I’ve seen on television. Milioti is really great and one of the few females who is shining in a role that isn’t designed to showcase a “woman of power” in some scripted way.

Yes, agree about Farrell. I thought Alexander was okay because he’s so great, and also, I remember watching Minority Report and thinking who the hell is this dude? Amazing screen presence, one of the few actors who just has that special magnetism in everything he’s in but for whatever reason his career kind of slowed down. But he is just next level great in this series. Should win Emmy hands down.

Clancy Brown, yes, that’s where he’s from! Couldn’t place him. Epic role in Shawshank.

I thought that on first watch, too. Then, I watched it as a social commentary on today’s society and it hit differently. It’s an appropriate Halloween movie if you want to shift your outlook and give it a rewatch.

For me, that was actually The Sopranos. I never got the praise it was heaped with until I watched it as a comedy instead of a drama. Now it’s in my top 3.

Worst line I’ve ever heard in a movie right here. And I have seen “The Room.” I would have refused to say this if I were Hemsworth and would have insisted they fire me if they don’t like it.

The way she went about consolidating her power (gas leak) was pretty genius writing for a woman who the audience is supposed to believe would take over the top crime family in the worst city in the world. The writers didn’t even have to do that, either, since the source material is based on a comic. But they it anyway and the show is better for it.

Both are good in everything they’re in. I’m looking forward to seeing where this goes. At this point, I don’t even want to see Batman or other villains. I want to do a deep dive into the Penguin character because he’s one of the few enemies Batman has that isn’t clinically insane.
