My local hannafords didn't have any brisket the other day so i grabbed a beef shoulder chuck roast and I'm going to attempt to get something close-ish. At worst it'll be smokey pulled beef.. Also made up some texas style pickled red onions. Add some smoked sausage, ribs and a couple sides and I'll be feasting on a Texas bbq spread the next couple days.

Have any of you used an air fryer? My daughter bought me one yesterday along with a shitload of groceries for some reason. just out of the clear blue sky. I certainly didn't ask for the stuff she bought. In fact, I told her I had just gotten an order delivered yesterday morning. She's never done anything like that before, she said she just wanted to do something for me. I appreciate what she did, but it was totally unnecessary.

Anyway, do you like your air fryer? Also, what do you cook in it?

Don't tell me the brand, so we can avoid people comparing and arguing, but....

If you're air fryer is any good, you can do a lot with hit. And you can cook most things that you would normally fry in oil:

French fries
Tater tots
Squid
Chicken wings/tenders/etc...
Mozzie sticks
etc...

It also means that you can actually heat up leftovers (of appropriate size and type, of course) in that contained space, instead of having to use a big oven or (gasp) the microwave.

I know you can use YouTube to come up with a bunch of ideas for them.

Step-by-Step Cooking Instructions with Expert Tips

Step 1: Preparing the Meat Sauce

The meat sauce is the cornerstone of the Parmesan Garlic Bacon Cheeseburger Lasagna, delivering that signature cheeseburger flavor. Start by heating a skillet over medium heat and adding the ground beef. Brown the beef thoroughly, breaking it into small pieces as it cooks. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, ensuring the garlic doesn’t burn.

Once the beef is fully browned, drain excess fat to avoid an overly greasy dish. Stir in marinara sauce, letting it simmer for 5 minutes to meld the flavors. The result should be a rich, savory sauce that’s ready to layer.

Pro Tip: For extra depth of flavor, deglaze the skillet with a splash of beef broth or red wine before adding the marinara. This step captures all the browned bits, enhancing the sauce’s robustness.

Step 2: Creating the Bacon Ranch Sauce

This sauce adds a creamy, tangy dimension to the lasagna. In a medium bowl, combine ranch dressing, grated Parmesan cheese, and crumbled bacon. Mix until well blended.

The combination of creamy ranch and crispy bacon creates a layer that complements the savory beef sauce and adds a rich, indulgent texture. For a spicier version, try incorporating a pinch of cayenne pepper or smoked paprika.

Pro Tip: Use freshly grated Parmesan cheese instead of pre-shredded for maximum flavor and creaminess.

Step 3: Layering the Lasagna

Proper layering is crucial to achieving a perfectly baked lasagna with evenly distributed flavors.

  1. Start with the Noodles: Begin by spreading a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of your baking dish. Lay down the first layer of cooked lasagna noodles.
  2. Add Meat Sauce: Spread a generous layer of the beef mixture evenly over the noodles.
  3. Spread Bacon Ranch Sauce: Spoon the bacon ranch sauce over the meat layer, ensuring every section is covered.
  4. Sprinkle Mozzarella: Add a layer of shredded mozzarella cheese for gooey texture.
  5. Repeat: Continue layering in the same order—noodles, beef sauce, bacon ranch sauce, mozzarella—until the ingredients are used up. Ensure you end with a thick layer of mozzarella on top for a bubbly, golden finish.
Pro Tip: Press each layer gently with a spatula to eliminate air pockets and create a compact structure.

Step 4: Baking and Serving

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes to achieve a golden, bubbly cheese topping. Let the lasagna rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley for a pop of color.

Serving Suggestions and Pairings

When serving Parmesan Garlic Bacon Cheeseburger Lasagna, consider enhancing the dining experience with thoughtful sides and pairings. This rich, flavorful dish benefits from accompaniments that provide contrast or complement its indulgence.

Best Side Dishes

  • Garlic Bread: The crispy, buttery texture of garlic bread perfectly complements the cheesy layers of lasagna. Brush slices of bread with a mixture of butter, garlic, and parsley before toasting.
  • Caesar Salad: A crisp salad with tangy Caesar dressing and crunchy croutons offers a refreshing counterbalance to the richness of the lasagna.
  • Roasted Vegetables: Try roasted asparagus, zucchini, or Brussels sprouts for a healthy, savory side. The caramelized edges of the vegetables enhance the lasagna’s flavors.

Drink Pairings

  • Red Wine: A medium-bodied red wine like Merlot or Chianti pairs beautifully with the dish’s savory notes.
  • Craft Beer: A smoky porter or malty amber ale echoes the bacon’s smoky flavor.
  • Milkshakes: For a playful, diner-inspired twist, serve the lasagna with vanilla or chocolate milkshakes.

Presentation Tips

Serve the lasagna in clean, square slices for a professional look. Garnish with fresh parsley or extra grated Parmesan for added flair. Find more ideas for serving cheesy comfort foods on Pinterest.

Variations and Customizations

Creative Twists

The Parmesan Garlic Bacon Cheeseburger Lasagna can be adapted to suit a variety of tastes and dietary needs:

  1. Chicken or Turkey Substitute: Swap out ground beef for ground chicken or turkey to create a lighter version of the dish. These proteins still pair well with the bacon and cheese layers.
  2. Vegetarian Option: Replace ground beef with plant-based crumbles or sautéed mushrooms. Use a vegetarian bacon substitute to maintain the smoky flavor.
  3. Spicy Kick: Add diced jalapeños, crushed red pepper flakes, or a splash of hot sauce to the meat sauce for a zesty twist.

Dietary Adjustments

  1. Gluten-Free: Substitute traditional lasagna noodles with gluten-free versions. Look for high-quality options that mimic the texture of classic pasta.
  2. Dairy-Free: Use plant-based cheeses and a dairy-free ranch dressing alternative for those avoiding lactose. Almond or cashew-based cheeses can provide creamy textures.

Kid-Friendly Version

Simplify the recipe for picky eaters by omitting strong flavors like garlic or Parmesan. Incorporate mild cheddar cheese instead of mozzarella and skip the bacon ranch sauce for a more straightforward dish.

Pro Tip for Customization

Experiment with adding caramelized onions, roasted red peppers, or different cheeses like Gouda or Fontina to craft a signature version of the recipe.

Storage and Make-Ahead Tips

Storing Leftovers

Proper storage ensures the Parmesan Garlic Bacon Cheeseburger Lasagna stays delicious for days. Once cooled, transfer leftovers to an airtight container and refrigerate. The lasagna can be stored for up to 3-4 days in the fridge.

When reheating, cover the lasagna with foil and heat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 15-20 minutes. For single servings, use a microwave-safe dish and cover with a damp paper towel to retain moisture.

Freezing the Lasagna

This dish is an excellent candidate for freezing. Assemble the lasagna as directed but do not bake. Instead, wrap the entire dish tightly in plastic wrap, followed by a layer of aluminum foil. Label and freeze for up to 3 months.

When ready to bake, thaw the lasagna overnight in the fridge. Bake as directed, adding an extra 10-15 minutes to the baking time if needed.

Make-Ahead Options

Streamline meal prep by preparing the individual components in advance:

  • Cook the ground beef and bacon the day before.
  • Store pre-cooked noodles and sauces separately in the fridge.
Assemble the lasagna a few hours before serving and refrigerate. Baking from cold may require a few additional minutes in the oven.

I had a bunch of old bananas sitting around so on Super Bowl Sunday I decided to make banana bread .I didn't have milk and didn't want to go out and get it so I used unsweetened vanilla almond milk and it turned out pretty damn good. I didn't have to figure out any substitution whatsoever either.

2 inch thick pork chops, tenderized with the Jaccard, then seasoned/marinaded and cooked sous vide. Juices used to make a gravy.

Broccoli

My mom made a ton of banana bread when I was growing up... so damn good. I need to put in a request for the next time I go visit.

I made red beans and rice again. Pretty much the same as last time but with a better quality sausage. I did blackend shrimp along with it. Super delicious.

The only think is one 1lb bag of beans-size recipe makes A LOT. For just me I will eat this like 3 times and not want it again for a while. So I need to remember to freeze a bunch of it so i'm not throwing it out is 3 or 4 days.
