General chit chat and shit talk.

My issue with the baked confectionaries is they’re usually homemade, so I don’t know exactly what I’m getting for flavor, and also the unknown calorie count. Ben and Jerry’s (warning: MAGA trigger) makes a really good chocolate and brownie ice cream though.

I hate when iconic foods change their recipe. Like, I’m already overpaying for a candy bar, or a Whopper, so just tack on the extra $.05 and let me enjoy it and get the nostalgia. Nothing worse than paying all this money for a cheap replica of something that makes me joyful from my childhood.
Until someone makes an ice cream better than Ben & Jerry’s, I’ll continue to buy them if I’m in the mood. I just don’t eat ice cream much in general. Maybe a couple of times a year at most.

Moose Tracks ice cream is also goated.

I used to be an avid supporter of Ben & Jerry's. But then:

  • Removal of Rainforest Crunch
  • Bastardization of Heath Bar Crunch and coffee Heath Bar Crunch with a shitty knockoff of Heath
  • Practical disappearance of coffee ice cream availability
  • Company going full-on batshit crazy
  • Needlessly jacking up prices even as they go full communist, which is the ultimate hypocrisy

So I no longer buy, eat, or recommend their product. I might (or might not) make an exception for their limited batch pumpkin cheesecake if it were available anywhere in my area, but I've not seen that in years.

They should be shot for treason for what they did to the Heath Bar ice cream alone. When you were down here, did you ever get the Heath Bar cookies from Publix?

I always liked when there'd be an assortment of the mini's at work. The standard Hershey's bar, Mr goodbar, snickers, twix, kitkat, Crunch bar... all of em are good.

If I had to go top 3 candy bar it'd be Reeces cups, Twix, Snickers. I think..

I hated the changes the director made to the book story. I didn't think any of them added anything posititve, and most were net negatives, IMO.
Yeah I can see why you may feel that way. I am just a fan boy at heart. It'll take a lot for me to hate something entertainment wise I mean I am a Cowboys fan after all

When they take what's considered by many to be the greatest science fiction novel ever written and decide to "fix" it by tossing in modern bullshit beliefs, I've got a problem with that. It didn't quite ruin part 2 for me, and I'll still put it on my Christmas list because you need it to complete part 1, but it was stupid and needless, it messed up chunks of this movie, and it changes some of the entire point of the movie and sequels.

But GIRLBOSS!

This is the sort of thing I tend to think of when I hear people bragging about "the way things are today" and things of that ilk. It's 2024, and we're just now figuring out why Roman concrete was so much superior to modern concrete:

The ancient Romans were masters of building and engineering, perhaps most famously represented by the aqueducts. And those still functional marvels rely on a unique construction material: pozzolanic concrete, a spectacularly durable concrete that gave Roman structures their incredible strength.

Even today, one of their structures – the Pantheon, still intact and nearly 2,000 years old – holds the record for the world's largest dome of unreinforced concrete...

We Finally Know Why Ancient Roman Concrete Was Able to Last Thousands of Years

I may have posted on this before, but it blows my mind that we couldn't figure out a relatively basic construction material to match the Romans until now.
