Mac Jones traded to Jaguars

It got posted on three threads by pctronics0072. You can tell by the dislikes who the idiots are
Surprislingly, there's only two dislikes to most of the reactions being funny. If he were still on the team and starting, that ratio would've been flipped.

I thought a 5 or 6 would get it done, I didn't have Jax as a landing spot though. But good for both sides, Jones needed a fresh start. I would be happy with Maye at #3 if they are sold on him. Plenty of depth at WR in this draft for them to add 1 or 2 guys later. Now if they aren't sold on QB#3 I'm fine with a slight trade down and grab your #1 WR there, maybe grab Penix if he's available at the turn.

I am ok with Zappe sticking around. He can start in a pinch....and if Brisset is signed in FA...there's a good chance Zappe is on the practice squad all year...serving as the emergency QB on game day if needed.

Thank you, Mac. While I hoped it would work out...it didn't and I hope that he fixes his fundamentals and gets back to being a starter some day.

our roster should be strong enough to not have Zappe anywhere near it

None of those were his fault.

they started it with some that werent his fault, but then it starts getting to some real ugly ones lol

i was wincing sometimes just watching his feet as he was throwing the ball

he had some bad luck/bounces too, but way too many ugly/braindead throws where you're just scratching your head

I think you need to go back and look at that footage over and over again until you're convinced that I'm right.

What a tremendous downfall after a promising rookie campaign from Mac. How do you guys feel about it?

Sad for the waste. There wasn't sufficient improvement in his arm strength, so he was never going to be a "carry the team" guy, but he had a chance to be a "can win with, and occasionally because of" player, and the team ruined that by breaking him.

Here is some perspective on our Mac Jones draft pick... It was time to move on and glad we did, but i think he gets a bit more shit than he deserves

keep in mind this was on a Pats team with virtually no offensive weapons and in a rebuild

There are trend lines to look at, which makes the amount of shit he deserves appropriate, if not on the light side. Namely 'performance since Week 15, 2021'.

Also remember people were crying that the Patriots didn't trade for Justin Fields. Holy shit.

Trever Lawrence has been extremely underwhelming and Mac Jones has better stats and winning % then all the QB's in that class. In fact, the Jags spent a lot of money putting pieces around him and they regressed badly missing the playoffs. The Jags trading for him is actually quite bizarre when you think about it.

He was the Pats fall guy as I predicted before the season began. I think he can reemerge on a team with some actual talent and a coach that knows some offense.

What's sad is that what happened with Jones was easy to see coming, and predicted by many.

  • It was easy to see that anti-Jones people would blame the normal second half of his rookie season on him, rather than elsewhere.
  • It was obvious that the change to Patricia was going to be a clusterfuck of epic proportions.
  • It was just common sense to think that Jones would struggle because of it, because the whole offense was destined to struggle due to it.
  • It was easy to understand that Jones could be ruined by it, because we've seen it often enough before.
  • It was easy to see that Jones would start as a sympathetic figure and then be vilified because, generally speaking fans, are really, really stupid about the teams and sports of which they are fans.

And it's a sad commentary on the idiocy of human beings that most people are so easy to read that the above all came true.
