Injuries to Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence have been the big story around the Cowboys this week, but they’ll also be missing a key player on the offensive side of the ball.

Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports that wide receiver Brandin Cooks will miss Sunday’s game against the Steelers. Cooks had a procedure on his knee after last Thursday’s win over the Giants and has developed an infection that will keep him from playing.

Archer adds that Cooks may miss games in the future as well...

...Head coach Todd Bowles told reporters on Wednesday that the team has ruled five players out on the short week. That group includes three players who have missed multiple games.

Right tackle Luke Goedeke (concussion) and safety Antoine Winfield Jr. (foot) are out for the fourth straight game while defensive tackle Calijah Kancey (calf) has yet to play in the regular season.

Wide receivers Jalen McMillan (hamstring) and Trey Palmer (concussion) have also been ruled out for Thursday...

Browns defensive end Alex Wright won’t be available for the rest of the 2024 season.

Wright announced on social media that he will miss the rest of the campaign after tearing his tricep. Wright said he initially suffered an injury during a joint practice this summer and felt more pain against the Jaguars in Week Two before having an MRI. Wright kept playing after that test, but went for another MRI this week and learned about the severity of his injury...

Saleh just took a flamethrower to whatever credibility he might still have had left:

...Three days after Jets coach Robert Saleh attributed five false starts to issues with the unique cadence employed by quarterback Aaron Rodgers, and two days after Saleh tried to shift the focus from “cadence” to “operation,” Saleh dismissed any effort to paint his word choice as a problem between himself and his quarterback.

“There is no cadence issue,” Saleh told reporter on Wednesday in response a question about the cadence issue. “There never was a cadence issue. It was created.”

It was created. And that’s not just some random existential observation. Saleh created it. Saleh used the word. Saleh attributed a quintet of false starts not to operation or to happenstance or to anything but “cadence.”...

Robert Saleh: “There is no cadence issue. There never was a cadence issue. It was created.”

If the Colts are going to win in Jacksonville for the first time since 2014, they’re going to have to do it without running back Jonathan Taylor.

Via multiple reporters, head coach Shane Steichen ruled Taylor out for the Week 5 matchup against the Jaguars during his Friday press conference.

Taylor is dealing with an ankle injury. He did not practice this week...

...Head coach Dan Quinn said at a Friday press conference that wide receiver Noah Brown will not play this weekend. Brown went from limited in practice due to a groin injury on Wednesday to out of practice on Thursday.

The Cardinals are set to get tight end Trey McBride back in the lineup.

McBride missed last Sunday’s loss to the Commanders, but he moved up to full practice participation on Thursday and head coach Jonathan Gannon told reporters at Friday’s press conference that he has been fully cleared from the concussion protocol. As a result, McBride is set to play against the 49ers on Sunday...

I've got the Seahawks in the survivor contest. They'd better not piss this away, or I'm out again:

The Giants will not have their star rookie when they play the Seahawks on Sunday.

Head coach Brian Daboll told reporters in his Friday news conference that receiver Malik Nabers has been ruled out for Week 5.

Nabers is still in concussion protocol after suffering the injury against the Cowboys last Thursday night. He has not practiced this week...

The Browns announced a series of roster moves on Saturday, including the return of offensive lineman Michael Dunn to the active roster.

Dunn returned to practice this week and he was officially removed from the non-football illness list. Dunn has appeared in 40 games and made six starts for the Browns since the start of the 2020 season.

The Browns opened up a roster spot for Dunn by placing defensive lineman Alex Wright on injured reserve. Wright announced this week that he will miss the rest of the year after suffering a tricep injury...

...Cornerback Darious Williams was activated on Saturday after missing the first four games of the season with a hamstring injury. Williams played 43 games for the Rams from 2018 to 2021 and returned to the team after being released by the Jaguars this year.

The Rams placed defensive lineman Larrell Murchison on injured reserve in a corresponding move. Murchison was the other player designated for return this week and the Rams activated him, but he had to go back on the list after breaking his foot in practice...

The Commanders will have quarterback Marcus Mariota back on the roster for Sunday’s game against the Browns.

Saints head coach Dennis Allen revealed that tight end Taysom Hill is dealing with rib fractures this week and fielded questions about whether Hill might go on injured reserve, so it would have been surprising if Hill was cleared to play against the Chiefs on Monday night.

The Saints confirmed that he has not been cleared on Saturday. Hill was one of five players that the team ruled out of their game in Kansas City.

Right guard Cesar Ruiz (knee) and center Shane Lemieux (ankle) are also going to miss the game...

...Linebacker Willie Gay (hand) and defensive end Payton Turner (knee) are the other two players who have been ruled out...
