The local media will continue to insist that Garrett's statements about wanting to go where he can compete for a title don't matter, because they need fodder for the upcoming offseason:

...Garrett said he spoke to people from the team multiple times and that he doesn’t think they were blindsided by his feeling that they were not “aligned on where the team is going in the near future.” Garrett said he knows he doesn’t have “much say in where I go,” but made it clear where he’d like to wind up.

“I just want to go to a contender,” Garrett said.

The Browns have said that they won’t trade Garrett and he declined to discuss what he’ll do if they stick to that stance. He added that he’s “sure people are calling and hopefully making some tempting offers” that lead to him putting on a different uniform in the near future.

They got the right guy at #1. Congrats to him:

...Allen was an inaccurate quarterback coming out of the University of Wyoming, and didn't dominate the competition in the Mountain West Conference. But he had a skill set, including a phenomenal arm, that made him an exciting high-end prospect. If he developed his talent, his ceiling was becoming the NFL's best quarterback.

Allen became everything the Bills could have dreamed of. And now Allen is an MVP, beating out Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson to win his first NFL MVP award, which was given out at Thursday's NFL Honors show. He's the third Bills player to win the award, joining Thurman Thomas in 1991 and O.J. Simpson in 1973.

"Feels good," Allen said backstage after receiving his award. "I feel like my teammates wanted this for me than I did, but I'm honored."...
