NFL GameDay Official Preseason Week 1 watch thread.

GameDay Discussion
Someone said tackling looked good ... With maybe one or two exceptions I think you're right. But, we expected the D to be the strength of this team.

On O ... strong run game. They've got good backs, ready for all situations. Fire out / aggressive run blocking should help the OL grow together.
It's on the OL, coaching for it should be better this year, I know we did little to improve there, but the additions last year were mostly big and physical projects. That's our only hope this season IMO, a couple of those guys pan out... Including our draft picks on OL this year.

Well that was fun-ish.. only gets better from here boys! (or worse)

Need to see the box scores - penalties, negative plays especially. Raw stats don't mean much - especially PS1 where vanilla is the theme.

It was exhibition game one, against a shit team that wasn't even playing its starters, and it sucked. But, I did take some quick mental notes on what I did see from the offense, since I did decide to rotate both available games in with the movie I was watching:

Milton looked like an older player going against a bunch of guys who won't be around during the season, and he did make a nice look-off on that TD pass, but he didn't really do anything that made me think he should be looked at as a guy who could take Zappe's place as the sacrificial starter should Brissett go down, should they decided that they don't want Maye in that position at the start of the season. But, if that's not the plan....

Zappe is Zappe, and there's no need to keep him around if he's not going to be that sacrificial lamb.

The OL really is not good.

Neither drafted WR impressed.

Just when you think Boutte might be showing something, he drops a ball that a 4 year old could have caught.

We won by 14 and the DEI HC is 1-0 in his career.

You better check your white privilege micro agressions!
